I was raised from childhood as a Christian, but as a young man not yet aware of his mortality, I became skeptical. I saw what I perceived to be hypocrisy in the church and could not reconcile this with what I had been taught of Jesus Christ and his message to all of us. I walked away from the church but continued to live my life as I would suppose a Christian might, though with some caveats.
Now, as I have grown older and closer to the reckoning, I am revisiting the teachings of my youth with a newfound need for comprehension foremost in my mind. I do not fear the end of my life. I have no expectation of “Life Everlasting†or an “Eternity in Hellâ€. But I must admit that I am envious of those of you who bask in the love of a God I have difficulty believing in.
I’m not trying to be adversarial, but one of the reasons that I’d become a skeptic is evident, here, in the Forum Policies and Rules posted concerning every section on this site.
I wonder…did Jesus have such Policies and Rules when he was delivering his message to the world?
