Questions

I found a list of good questions, thought I'd share them, and maybe change them just a little:Why is the word "repent" not used in the book of John?

Who are the meek that will inherit the earth (MT 5:5)? Why don't they inherit heaven?

Should you give anyone money that asks you for it? MT 5:42

If Peter knew and was preaching the gospel, why did he rebuke his Lord when told that He would die and be raised again the
third day? MT16:21-23, MT17:23

Why are we told in JN 3:16,36,5:24, etc. that the only requirement for eternal life is to believe in the report of Jesus Christ, whereas in MT19:16-17, a man is told to keep the commandments in order to receive eternal life?

Enjoy!

1. I have NO idea...

2. The humble and teachable. Because God wanted to not only redeem the spirit, but also to redeem matter (our bodies) and our bodies wouldnt do us much good in a solely spiritual place.

3. Jesus says so. Though if they are going to use it to sin, and you know this, you probably shouldnt, cause then you are aiding in their sin. But if you dont know, your not culpable.

4. He didnt understand yet totally. He loved Jesus. Alot. Wouldnt you try and talk to a friend going to a horrible slaughter?

5. Im Catholic. You know my answer. And everyone else will hijack your thread debating me on it.

Good questions JM. You really do think an awful lot, dont you?

#1. No clue.

#2. They do inherit heaven, as the kingdom of heaven is established on earth.

#3. No.

#4. Human nature and stubborness.

#5. Because believing him is also doing what he says (if you have heard and understand what he says). Merely believing he exists or that he can save you is not the same as living like that is true. Anyway, we know one of Yahweh's commandments is to believe on his Son, according to 1 John.

I think too much! I have insomnia and read theology [at night when the family is tucked away] almost non-stop until I drift. As I'm writting I'm also reading. lol

Pray for me, this thinking thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.

peace,

j

I hear ya JM. I will pray for you... for your health, not your conversion, just so we are clear... i had the experience where ppl didnt want me to pray for them cause they thought I had alterior motives... that was kinda disheartening...
