Hello all.

I was born and raised Southern Baptist, but for the past few years have studied and practiced Buddhism. I now see that I jumped ship for the wrong reasons and am seeking fellowship with other Christians and reconciliation with God.

Peace...

Welcome. You'll find those here who are willing to share their Christian beliefs and discuss any differences. You'll also find the haters who want to condemn you for not being just like them.

Can you tell us why you're leaving Buddhism?

Welcome to the Christian forums...

Besides the occasinal aberations that taint the forest in the areas (places that I must cleanse!), this place isn't so bad :)

Hello friend. Thanks for the heads up ;-)

I was studying to become a priest and there was a lot of pressure and expectations and I simply wasn't ready in my heart to do such a thing. I was intellectually ready, but found that I couldn't devote my life to being in such a role when I wasn't 100% sure of my faith.

That, along with other factors made me step back and evaluate myself, my goals and my spiritual heritage. Simple things like my children (raised Christian) speaking to me about God were indicators that God transcends whatever notions I have of Him and that I should look back to Christianity with a different set of glasses.

Instead of the closed mind of absolutism and dogmatism that I used to flounder in, I have gained a critical mind that accepts what is reasonable to the mind and palpatable to the heart. That in short is where I am right now. Thanks for asking :-D

Peace...

Thanks for the welcome, friend.

I wasn't even allowed to be on a Catholic Christian site (which I won't mention) because I labeled myself as a Buddhist. Even though I was leaving Buddhism and needed prayer and communion with others, I wasn't allowed to be there. I was in a tight spot and wanted Christians to be praying for my lost soul. I emailed a moderator and they thankfully posted my prayer request, but I still did not ever gain access.

That's a shame and not very Christian-like :crying:

Peace...

all the wisdom of man is but foolishness to God

Hi WOODY,
AND WELCOME WEARY PRODIGAL, Of course Jesus is so pleased to have you back.
' heb;13v.5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. 7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Dont ask me why woody, this came to me whilst reading your posts. All of the above....... The Lord will never leave you!

born again,again!

by the way, you should rename your thread, Born again, again!
