During the Monday night Bible study, the Lord revealed to me that reading the Bible is like going to a movie - where you see the movie from the beginning to the end.

The Lord said, "You don't go to a movie and see the end and bits and pieces of the middle, and bits and pieces of the beginning; and then really leaving the movie knowing the WHOLE CONTENT." He said, "Reading the Bible is the same thing. You can only understand the Bible, when you begin at the Beginning and you stop at that End. This jumping around the Bible will just get you confused."

"I Praise you, Jesus Christ." Amen.

Well its a worthy endeavor, and more power to you, but reading the Bible from cover to cover and understanding its content are two different things. And I don't think anyone can ever understand ALL of the Bible, having all knowledge of its every meaning. This is why we study, and study, and study.... I personally have not read the entire Bible but I have a very developed theology and instruction in doctrine (because I do study, and study, and study...), though I do not claim to have perfect understanding. What I mean to get at is that we shouldn't think ourselves unequiped to live the Christian life if we haven't read every page of the Bible and don't understand all of its content (especially symbolic prophecies). Although not reading the Bible at all is inexcusable.

But true you must have a well rounded understanding of the Word of God to exhort proper doctrine, as Paul told Titus and Timothy.

I would surly enjoy watching some of the bible accounts on dvd, not like the garbage that they already put out, but real truthful account of the bible.

Perhaps in heaven there will be a theater? :P

I pretty much am like Cybershark. I have read a lot of portions of the OT. but not straight through. I have read the NT through.

But I never grow weary of studying the whole Book, comparing scripture with scripture, as we are encouraged by Paul in 2 Tim. 2:15:

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." KJV

For we know "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
2 Tim. 3:16, KJV.

And, as for understanding and interpreting the Word, John Wiclif put it this way: "It shall greatly helpe ye to understand Scriptures,
If thou mark not only what is spoken or wrytten,
But of whom, and to whom, with what words, at what time,
Where, to what intent, with what circumstances,
Considering what goeth before and what followeth."
