'Reasoned' into Faith?

No one in the Bible was EVER "reasoned" into faith. They can however be reasoned into church membership which has nothing to do with salvation or faith. It is intellectual assent or "head" faith and may be accompanied with a high God consciousness received from participating in empty ritual and dead religious works.
1 Corinthians 1:22-23

New King James Version (NKJV)

22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks[a] foolishness,

Here is the ONLY way to faith in Christ:
1 Corinthians 1:21

New King James Version (NKJV)

21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

AND: John 6:65

New King James Version (NKJV)

65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.â€

The basic question for EVERY professing Christian/church member is does he have heart faith or intellectual assent/"head" faith accompanied with a high God consciousness received from participating in empty ritual and dead religious works.

I think it takes a person to believe in their hearts first that Jesus is God in the Flesh, then they confess with thy mouth. Then wait patiently for God to come and believe in your heart that he will come. God the Father will take care of the rest! Then through Salvation they obtain a new Belief and Faith through the Holy Spirit and God's Word. Believing is what people refuse to do. If you mean reasoned by love, peace, mercy and grace then sure, ha.

Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 1:16 - A true prophet of God already knows who are true/false prophets through the baptism of the Holy Spirit and His Salvation, they are not ashamed to preach the Gospel of Christ. www.christianforums.net/showthread.php?t=49311&p=753697#post753697

Great post. We know faith comes by hearing Gods word that draws all men unto Him. It's by faith that leads us to repentance that we believe that Christ is the only way to the Father. It's sad to say, but there are many that are sitting in the Church pew that will never know the kingdom of Gods glory as they have never received Jesus in their heart as their Lord and Savior, but only give lip service to His name.

for his glory:

Yes, it's faith that accompanies repentance, in 'the goodness of God that leadeth thee to repentance, as Romans 2.4 says.

Blessings.

Belief and Faith are synonyms of each other before salvation, but only after Salvation does Believing and Faith turn to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

urk:

Actually Peter does say that believers are born again when they are 'begotten by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever' (1 Peter 1.23).
