Receiving from God. Things that must be in place. Part 1
By me, Brother Mike.
By me, Brother Mike.
Glory to God everyone!!! We have a mighty and awesome God who loves us, and gave the most precious gift Jesus for us. As a child of the most high God you have an amazing right to go to your Father in Heaven and get your prayers answered.
I expect all of my prayers answered. Some I am waiting on and believing God for, the rest marked off the list. I am going to give you some extremely important keys to receiving from God. These are the first things any baby Christian should be taught, how to get the bottle from Daddy. Sadly, even those that preach don't know how to get God to answer prayer. After reading this though you will be on your way to a victorious life as a believer in the Lord Jesus.
God wants to answer prayer, but it has to be His way.
Faith, Hope and the most important, LOVE.
YLT:
1Co 13:13 and now there doth remain faith, hope, love--these three; and the greatest of these is love.
1Th 1:3 unceasingly remembering of you the work of the faith, and the labour of the love, and the endurance of the hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of our God and Father,
1Th 5:8 and we, being of the day--let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet--a hope of salvation,
The big 3 must be in place to get any prayer answered. Each one can have a book written about them, and are vast with information we need to know.
Your looking at FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE. That is it, it's all you need to check. Somewhere in one or more of these is the answer to hindrance in prayer. You just can't have faith, without Hope or love and you can't just have Love without Hope or faith.
HOPE:
This is often overlooked. Hope is what your faith in something is focused on. You loose sight of what your believing God for, then faith has nothing to focus on. If you loose hope, faith becomes unfocused and things you believed to be true, won't seem as true as they once did.
Rom 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Rom 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
times of trials, hard times, sad times should be counted as Joy!!!
Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Now, why should I count bad things happening as Joy? You can do that because we know something. Knowing something puts us in the command seat, and puts things in perspective that we don't have to be afraid of. We don't give glory for the bad stuff, we count it glory and joy that we get an opportunity to build patience, experience and Hope. Bad things test our patiences, it works it, through that we gain experience which produces hope.
Hope makes us not ashamed. That means our faith and patience, experience is not going to come out bad, but victorious. Once victorious, then you have the experience, have that patience worked and tested, it will be very hard for the devil to pull something over on you again because you know that God can not fail.
Look at David, He fought a lion, a bear, and God gave him victory over these very big animals. David had that experience, He saw what God could do. When Goliath came along, look at what David said.
1Sa 17:36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
1Sa 17:37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
Because of David's experience with trouble and trails at the hands (Paws) of the Lion and bear, this non covenant Philistine was going to be a cake walk. Look at David's confidence and faith in His statement. David said God will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine, no problem. The Lion and bear had better standing with God than this philistine.
It David's hope in God, that gave Him the victory he had over the Lion and bear, to also give him the victory over Goliath. David learned that God is more than able to defeat his enemies by His experience with the Lion and bear. It gave David Hope and that hope overcame a man that nobody could overcome. It put David in the spotlight, and God exalted David because David kept the lesson He learned.
This hope you have gotten through trials and passing is a great tool for sharing with others. Give others something that only you went through and they are starting to go through.
Never look at any trouble, tragedy, trail, problems again with sadness, but look at it as a great chance to show God that your unmovable, and look forward to that experience and hope building trial to be used later, and share with others.
I have been through my own son given up to die, My coffee poisoned, surrounded by gang people with weapons, facing 90 years in prison, the list is long, but through all that I can boldly say.......
What can the devil do to me?
Absolutely NOTHING!!!
Faith:
There is a whole lot to be said about faith. What is faith? All faith is, is believing what the Word says over the things you see, hear, or can sense with your physical senses.
We walk by faith, and not by sight............ It's real simple without going into long explanations.
Without faith, you won't get any prayers answered. Same with Hope and Love. No faith, no prayers coming to pass.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
You won't get around this one, you need to have faith, and be immovable. Having put on your armor and done everything you know, then just Stand. Stand and don't move. Faith just believes what God said, that is all faith is. God expects that anyway.
If God said He would supply all your needs, then your not laying awake at night wondering how the bills are getting paid. Faith does not worry and is full of Joy. You can tell right away if your in faith by your joy level. If you find yourself worrying, afraid, concerned, then your in trouble and need to get back and focus on the Word.
Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
What if you don't believe? Then your in trouble and need to get yourself in check. We can write a whole lot about faith, but this one scripture really speaks a lot about it.
Mat 8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Mat 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
This statement got the Lords attention. Jesus was willing to go with the Centurion, someone that was not a covenant person and personally Heal his servant. The Centurion said......... Jesus, just speak the Word ONLY, that is all that is needed. Your word is good enough. No doubt in the Centurions mind what the outcome would be, no worries, no fretting, no wondering, the Word was good enough.
This kind of faith got the Centurion in the book.
Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
We have the eternal Word today with just as much power the Word had then. If God said it, then We believe it, and that settles the problem. No more issue, the problem is good as fixed already.
When issues, problems, troubles, come up. Get in the Word, get you a promise book for 5.00 do what it takes and write down the scriptures that pertain to your problem. Then focus on them night and day, be diligent, and confess them, meditate on them, speak them. That word will produce faith in your heart, and the Word will become more real than any problem or issue.
Just praying only old thing without meditating in the Word night and day is going to end in failure. Worse, go to others to pray for you. That is not faith, take the time, energy, effort in the Word to build yourself up and trust that the Word will produce what it God sent it to produce and not return void. God's word can not fail, but we must have meditated in it, and taken hold of it to get results the Word said we can have. That takes effort, but your life should be worth it.
Love:
Love is the most important thing that must be in place to get your prayers answered. No love, no answers.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
See that?? Love is why your faith will work. No love, then your faith is a motor just sitting there with no gas in the tank. I don't care how great you think your faith is, if you break that Royal law of love command, your faith won't even start.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
See that.............. NOTHING!!!!!
If your prayers are not getting answered, check this one here first. Check your love walk. I don't mean let people run you over, but pay attention to what you say, and how you say it. Treat people on the level they need to be treated on. If there is a know it all, then by all means, let them have it according to their supposed knowledge. If it's a person that is just learning then treat them that way. This is How Jesus operated, He was harsh with those that thought they knew everything, and very kind and forgiving to those that needed help.
Your love walk must always be in check. I am just amazed at couples coming to me with all these problems and the first thing it always seems to be is that they are mistreating one another. You can't get prayers answered by mistreating or disrespecting your spouse, Not gonna happen. It does not matter if your spouse is a crummy spouse, one of you better be right with God or the whole house is coming down.
1Pe_3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Now only a stupid person would be unkind to their spouse and cut their own prayer line. Stupid people do that!!!! We are not stupid, so we don't do that, right? If your spouse pulls a bone headed move, then Go to your Father and heaven and tell on them................ You got that? Be a tattle tale, the one that just runs to mom and dad and blabs everything. That is what my wife does, because Mike does bone headed things at times. She goes to my father, and the next thing I know, God is dealing with me about something. I know who told on me, but what am I gonna do? That is how it works.
Workplace is a great place to practice love. Never get involved in talking bad about other coworkers.
Do unto others are you would like others to do to you..
Think about being a Cashier and your moving slow, your feet hurt, someone comes in with Food tickets that hold up the line, you mis-rung a few things and had to wait for management to clear your drawer, you have had people make comments about you being related to Turtles. It's just a horrible day and your not giving your best service because you are just that beat down. Even if you speed up, that just means more customers in your line instead of the slower employee's. You get no rewards for being fast.
Now............... how would you want someone to treat you if you were in that position? I try to make it a point with everyone I met to leave them in a better state than what I met them. Even if they suck big time, I just want them happy if possible when I leave. That is how I treat those slow, crabby, and having a bad day cashiers. I cheer them up, am kind to them, and I smile at them. It really makes a big difference even if I am not preaching at them. It means something to God also, which is very important.
Even the server that messes up my food, does not refill my glasses, is just moody and short with me. I still give her over 20% tip every single time. I don't base it on her service, I base it on love and more than once I had a server just cry on me saying thank you. One I gave a 50.00 on a 20.00 meal and she followed my wife and I out to the parking lot with tears just thanking us and telling us how she really appreciated that. You can't put a price on that, never.
Every person you meet, think of them as someone the Lord can use you to encourage and help. Even the rotten ones, which are the most fun. If you see someone preaching in what you think is error, don't go telling people, pray for them. Is that what you want people to do for you when your messing up? OR would you rather them go blab to the World about how stupid you are?
You have to reap each judgment, each thing you do. You don't want to reap a ineffective prayer life by breaking that Love command. You don't want to cut whatever little faith you have off from God.
Remember these 3 things when prayer............................. Love, Faith and Hope. Make sure they are all in order, have your scriptures meditated on and ready, putting God into remembrance to what He has already said to us. Get ready to stand, and count it joy that you get another chance to show God you believe Him and get ready for a more stronger hope and greater patience.
Mike.
