I was actually surprised I found such a mellow song from them!

Yeah, I was surprised when I heard that song and realized it was from them. A lot of times when you get the hard rock/metal type bands that slow down and do something mellow, the lead singer's voice just doesn't hold up ... but this fellow's voice does. It is a great song.

Yeah, I agree. Same works in reverse. When I heard Kutless do some of their harder stuff I was very surprised!

...I heard some people talking about moshpitting, though.
questdriven:

I guess also with the Bible's exhortations to moderation and self-control, the whole ethos of moshpitting can be seen as questionable; different from liking a rhythm, though.

(If this makes sense?)

Blessings.

I don't know if it'd be absolutely wrong, but it does seem to have negative connotations.
questdriven:

Anyway, the clothing line moshpitclothing dot com simply uses the term in the business name, but I'm sure plenty of people wear the brand without actually moshpitting!

Blessings.

@faeriecat :

I think you've indicated that you yourself are also really into hard rock.

For me the style is kind of subjective, though some hard rock is good to listen to; it's clear Christian lyrics that I like to look for. For example, for me Disciple's track 'Battle Lines' is a masterpiece of hard rock combined with uncompromising Christian lyrics.

Sometimes Red's lyrics are a bit more vague, it seems to me, anyway.

Blessings.

Wow! Red is a new discovery for me! I've gotta get some of their albums!

I'm in a real Underoath mood at the moment

Knew Red for a while now, great band! Hope I can see them in concert as well sometime, have you guys heard of Pillar? :)

I think I still prefer Disciple...(do you know Disciple?)

Is Underoath a Christian band? That's a little hard for my taste, but my son might like it!
Skillet,
When you post from youtube, click on the little icon to the left of the quote icon. It looks like a movie reel.

Oh, and when I see you name, it reminds me of this!

Deborah13:

Are you in to hard rock at all? (Christian or not).

Blessings.

No, Pink Floyd was the closest for me but then only because they had some songs that have a jazz sound to them. Like Steely Dan.
George Benson - White Rabbit or these..
Jose Feliciano and Carlos Santana
i am the shadow of shame,
i am the echo of pain,
the sad solitude that i am left with today.
the reminder that i loved you
and a strange hopelessness eyy eyyy.
i am the shadow of a shame,
i am the echo of a pain.
i want to forget, i want to find forgiveness.
take devotion of my heart
i beg of you my lord.
i will erase my gloom and i will hide my sorrows.
the memories i suffer from will become a song
i shall return to life, sing again, you'll see
i shall return to life, sing again, you'll see

George Benson and Carlos Santana - Breezin'

Hadn't realized that Ms. Deborah13 was into Pink Floyd... :)

Good song! One of the first songs I heard by them :) If your son likes harder kinds of (Christian) rock, you should show him one of these songs:
