After watching overpaid shortstops and waiting 2 years for my beloved Rangers to admit it's time to finally shed payroll and rebuild, I got nothin' but love for teams that can win on tiny payrolls in small markets--hence my hoping for the underdog Twins to go far.
But I can respect what the Sox have done this year--they're due and if anyone can beat the Yankees, the Sox will do it. I'd love to see Clemens get shelled two or three times in October, at least once in Boston. The Sox can score some runs and if the pitching holds up beyond your ace, New York will have its hands full.
My second-favorite team, the Astros, underperformed when it counted and won't see the postseason--too bad because they've got a pitching staff most teams would love to have.
