What, exactly, does this mean? This has been running across my mind a lot lately..."Regeneration is the work of The Holy Spirit." Does it involve physical healing as well?

That's a good question. I think the answer is it could, but does not have to.

Titus 3:5
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;/

The way this reads, regeneration is the washing away of our sins and the impartation of life unto us who were spiritually dead, but are now alive spiritually.

Renewing (of the mind and so forth) is promised, but is something that we must participate in...or it wont happen. Anyone who has ever been saved can attest to this. The day after being saved they woke up with the same mind! So it's not as if we just wait on the Holy Spirit to magically change the way we think all at once, lol. It's a process and takes time. We have to keep feeding our spirit (with the Word), keep reading it, meditating on it, and walking it out. The bible is clear...think on these things...don't think on those things...because as we think is who we become.

Does that make sense brother?

OK....so, The Holy Spirit cleans us up, basically? Inside and out? Is this before or after we get saved? What about sanctification? Ugh...so many questions...

But thanks for your answer. That clears a lot up, but also makes me want to know more.

The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. Deuteronomy 30:6 NIV

In the strictest sense, no.

"16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though * our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." (2 Corinthians 4:16 NASB)

Temporary physical healing is another aspect of salvation. The redemption of our bodies is still another.

All I know is my Lotleth Troll also has trample, regeneration, and is a very efficient beater in zombie based strategies.

Soooo....regeneration is the Holy Spirit's work in making us more receptive to Christ (?). And physical healing, should it occur, is handled separately?

Almost.
Regeneration is the Holy Spirit making us more like Christ in character. But certainly, becoming more receptive to Christ is essential to becoming like Christ.

And physical healing, should it occur, is handled separately?
I think so.

Don't be discouraged. Physical healing is a privilege and benefit of the kingdom. It's just not called 'regeneration' IMO.

And I do think there is a link between physical well being and what spirit we live by.
