Power of the flesh and selfish men and those who are full of their own carnal power can’t have anointment of God and no blessings of God, as we know this truth through life of Saul.

Because David was a little and small man, humble and weak anointment of God and His blessing rest above David. As David made sin, so he also always made repent of those sins in his life. The own men of David have said; that David is fond more, those who hate David as those who loved David. David loved Saul as love of God, although Saul intended to kill him. David loved God and word of God. David trusted more God’s power as on his own power. All these features made David such kind of man whose mind was pleasing God. God calls also you to follow an example of David's life. Love and fear God and anger sinful things, but love sinner, so then you are also pleasing God. This is desire of God for us. Do you allow God’s loving and truthful Spirit, through word of God make you a man who is pleasing loving God?

Hey Finland!

Anywhere near Helsinki?

Enjoyed Eurovision Song Contest!

Anyway, what came to mind was that God used folk of every type of personality & background & ability to follow Jesus, write the Bible & to serve Him in all history

& many have said that @ all the OT prophets & NT apostles woulda been rejected by most Mission Boards

Praise God that He chooses to use the 'weak, foolish & despised' to 'confound the strong, wise & arrogant' - as in 1 Corinthians 1:18-27 & Hebrews 11

1 Corinthians 1:18-27 (New International Version)

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."[
a]

20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

1 Corinthians 1:19 Isaiah 29:14

Hi Petri

This yahoo article kinda fits this thread:-

Britain obsessed with fame, addicted to junk food: Lonely Planet Guide

AFP - - Britons are obsessed with celebrity and addicted to junk food and ready meals, a new travel guide said as it shed a sometimes unflattering light on the country.

The Lonely Planet guide noted that more people vote in television talent shows than in elections, saying this was "a symptom of Britain's ever-growing obsession with fame and celebrity."

Britons are fascinated with famous people "even though their 'celebrity' status is based on little more than the ability to sing a jolly tune, look good in tight trousers or kick a ball in the right direction," it noted.

Like many foreign observers, the guide noted Britain's particular problem with alcohol. "Vandalism and nuisance behaviour caused by binge drinking remain serious problems," it said....

This fits even better:-

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let Us Humble Ourselves

Woe to those who call
evil good and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
Woe to those who are wise
in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.

Isaiah 5:20-21 NIV

Meditation 5/20 - 5/26: Ps 24:1-6 ESV

Who may stand in His holy place?

The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.

He will receive blessing from the LORD
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

Selah

Psalm 24:1-6 ESV
