Evening to all you wonderful people. I posted a few days ago about how to cast anxiety over to Jesus. I had issues with my vision last week, was told by eye doctor that they could not see anything wrong and that they thought the issue was because one eye was short sighted and the other long sighted my brain could not cope with the sparkles /shimmering that I was seeing. I was prescribed varifocal glasses but come back if flashing in the eye appeared.
That was Wednesday of last week. Sure enough that same night I started to get flashes that got worse and were continual. I started panic. I started to find that if I looked at a face it was like someone was continually flashing a light in my eye, especially when watching TV or focusing on someone's face.
I withdrew in myself. My family noticed it, yesterday at church there was a calling for anyone who had health issues, physical and mental to come forward for prayer. My wife said go forward. I was reluctanct but went forward. No healing of the symptoms.
This morning I woke up and went back to the optician explained the issues. Was given a thorougn eye check. Retinal photography and a eyes dialated. He could find nothing wrong other than pressure in the eye and even then the effects of that were not shown. So got a non emergency referral to see if I need eye drops to relieve the pressure.
As I ponderered this today I have to say to my shame that I had lost my focus, not in my eyes but in Jesus I really felt God so to me, you have lost your focus, your focus on me and Jesus. When this first started you buried your head, you did not come to me, and I am ashamed to say he said to me "When you went forward yesterday it was a last resort and that is true.
I repented of that this afternoon. I have asked God to change my focus. I'm sat here typing with my varifocals and it's blurry at times, when I watch TV, no flashing lights but still a shimmer/sparke but not as bad.
So what I'm trying to say is that we can lose our focus, we can't fully see at times and when we do not Jesus says
Revelation 3:18-19
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
So maybe God is disciplining me through this process and changing my focus.
The following helped me today.
"Remembrance"
Oh, how could it be
That my God would welcome me into this mystery
Say take this bread, take this wine
Now the simple made divine for any to receive
By Your mercy, we come to Your table
By Your grace, You are making us faithful
Lord, we remember You
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to Your invitation, we remember You
See His body, His blood
Know that He has overcome every trial we will face
None too lost to be saved
None too broken or ashamed, all are welcome in this place
By Your mercy, we come to Your table
By Your grace, You are making us faithful
Lord, we remember You
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to Your invitation, we remember You
Dying You destroyed our death
Rising You restored our life
Lord Jesus, come in glory
Lord Jesus, come in glory
Lord Jesus, come in glory
Lord Jesus, come in glory
Lord, we remember You
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to Your invitation
We respond to Your invitation, we remember You
Father bless you all.
