Two Chairs:
Imagine you’re in a room with two chairs; one is facing the interior and the other chair is facing a view out a window. Placing yourself in the chair that is facing the interior, you notice a stove, a sink, a picture on the wall, a computer etc. Now placing yourself in the other chair you notice a view of a beautiful sunrise over the lake, you notice birds flying in the morning air and you see snow caped mountains in the far distance. Each day you can decide what chair you want to sit in. We can choose to sit in the chair showing us our every day stuff (interior) of daily living, or we can choose to sit in the other chair and view the world and the splendor thereof each day. We can choose to let the stress of daily life get to us, or we can look beyond the horizon and see something better, something more beautiful, something more meaningful. The chair you decide to sit in will be the chair that will determine what kind of day you will have!

Wouldn't circumstance also enter the equation? I am out of the elements for a reason; warmth, safety, and comforts not afforded under a tree, or in a snow bank of a capped mountain.

Switching chairs to a view of the outside would seemingly present things past; I could have remained outside if desired. Paul put it this way in Philippians 4:11, I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Maybe I should just turn to the beautiful fireplace, enjoy that pot of coffee on the stove, and cuddled up against my wife on the couch. Thank You Father for such blessings You give; Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

And brother, I am just messing with you; I have not boarded up the windows in my home and do enjoy all that God allows me to see, but I'm just so thankful I don't have to wrestle that bear (I done that one time), get away from an angry lion (I done that one time), have to be wary of wild wolves, and all manner of critters with rabies, or have to walk through a storm with snow waist deep (I've done that more than once).

I have not forgotten sharks made mad, jelly fish afloat, snakes a plenty, centipedes, chiggers, scorpions, spiders, ticks, and as if that is not enough there is poison ivy, poison oak, and sumac. Good grief man, I'm thinking of buying another high-rise condo; you can have all that, and that brought to mind the song Fanny Crosby wrote; "Take the world, but give me Jesus." The chair she chose was Jesus as she couldn't see.
