Watchman Fellowship is an independent Christian research and apologetics ministry focusing on new religious movements, cults, the occult and the New Age. It provides Resources and Tips for Witnessing to Cults and New Religious Movements.

(1) TOOLS FOR WITNESSING TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
================================================
Reaching and witnessing to friends and family members who are Jehovah's Witnesses is a difficult task. Members of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society are trained in Watchtower apologetics to both overcome arguments disproving their faith, as well as to ignore any doctrinal difficulties with which they may be confronted. Watchman Fellowship enables individuals to reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses by providing guides for witnessing and evangelizing, as well as books, videos, and free articles that examine the beliefs and practices of the Watchtower Society from a traditional Christian perspective.

(2) TOOLS FOR WITNESSING TO MORMONS
====================================
Reaching out to friends and family who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints presents a great challenge for Christians. Mormons often recite their testimony, and point to their admirable lifestyle, as proof of the validity of their beliefs. Unfortunately, they are often unaware both of how their beliefs deviate from biblical Christianity, and how LDS doctrine and history has been revised over the years. Watchman Fellowship enables individuals to reach out to Latter-day Saints by providing guides for witnessing and evangelizing, as well as books, videos, and free articles that examine the beliefs and practices of the LDS Church from a traditional Christian perspective.

(3) TOOLS FOR WITNESSING TO THE NEW AGE
=========================================
Witnessing to friends and family members who are involved in the New Age is a difficult task. The beliefs and practices of the New Age movements are highly diverse, and many adherents adopt New Age ideas without being aware of their religious influence. Watchman Fellowship resources will help you in your evangelistic encounters.

(4) TOOLS FOR RECOVERING FROM SPIRITUAL ABUSE
==============================================
Spiritual abuse is particularly damaging to its victims. The trust placed by individuals in some religious groups is betrayed by abuse and controlling behavior from the group's leaders. These resources will enable Christians to offer much-needed assistance to victims of spiritual abuse, as well direct assistance for individuals recovering from abuse.

Mercy,

Do I disagree with most of this posting. Don't people realize that when you are in a discussion with a member of the JW's, the CoJCoLDS, or a new agers, that they already know what's coming to them from an "anti-" site?

If you want to know they teach, read their materials, and go from there... Learn it from the inside out, not the outside in...

A member of the CoJCoLDS's or Jehovah's Witness or New Ager can spot an anti- approach in a matter of two sentences.

Rule 1. When speaking to a member outside mainstream Christianity, when they hand you the bible or bom to read... give it back to them and have them read to you. If is is you reading, the person who you are in the discussion with is already forumulating their questions and answers to you. Turn the tables... while they are reading, formulate your own approach.

Rule 2. Talk their language. Be familiar with their denominational terms.... and use them respectfully. Telling a Mormon that "Old Joe was a deceiver and a liar".... certainly won't keep their attention for more than 30 seconds. You will be pegged as "anti-mormon" and it will be a lost opportunity.

Rule 3. Don't try to corner anyone into a decision... that only brings out the defensive edge. Keep the playing ground level.... but just keep plugging.

Rule 4. Listen. Listen to what they have to say. Give them space to say it. Don't interrupt. Common courtesy says, let them speak. You will get a chance to speak... God will give you that chance.

Rule 5. If you don't know what you are talking about... be honest about it. For goodness sakes, I tell every Mormon I meet that I have read exactly 67 pages of the bom. It's an opener for comversation. They want to know what 67 pages I have read. When a JW hands me material... I read it. No. I devour it.... looking for all the doctrinal error that I can find... and I make an appointment to get back with them within a couple of days.

Rule 6. Pray, pray, pray... pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit... pray for each piece of the armour of God as you put it on.... pray for a protective hedge around your family, your finances, your possessions, and your faith...
