So, my wife and I were all over iTunes this morning after she found some old '80s Christian band she used to listen to. We wanted to see how much we could find that we used to like. Here are a few from what I used to listen to lol:

Here's a few more lol:

One of the classics:

Nothing like a husband and wife teaming up:

This is still a good song:

This was an album way ahead of it's time. I still listen to it:

Thank you.

In my (not so humble) opinion; Resurrection Band is the most important group in my lifetime.

Anyone else remember Paul Clark? I heard his music as a young Christian about 35 years ago. He's the reason that I love Old Jesus Hippie Music.

For me, the best band from the 80's was Barnabas.

Feel The Fire was their 4th album: 1984 First three songs on the album actually play as a single suite. I can't find it in its entirety on Youtube, but here it is in two parts.

In my opinion: The best piece of music ever recorded - from the dawn of mankind. Check out the final verse:
Stumbling, with my face toward the twisting, sobbing sky
The dream is reality, through tear-streaked spirit eyes
The wickedness I cherish bruised the One I claim to serve
The horrendous crucifixion, I most richly deserved

Unfortunately, this is from a bad remix of the original.

I love REZ BAND as well as other early artists like LARRY NORMAN and Phil Keaggy. I have Barnabus, too. I still haven't parted with my vinal collection. I have tried to get the old stuff on CD but the lesser known artisits didn't make it into CD.
A lot of hard rock, punk and metal bands made really bold statements in their music. We need God to keep us filled with His Spirit so we can be
That bold in our witness. I keep praying that God would turn our nation back to Himself but it starts with me and my willingness to be bold and
Allow Him to fill me with His words.

Carolyn:

Well, if I may say so, I think it's very heartening that you, who have identified yourself as a great-grandmother, married for almost 50 years, can identify with the message of Christian hard rock, heavy metal and punk.

God can use clean-cut short-hair baptists, but many young Christians, with a vibrant testimony also, don't necessarily come from that culture. Whether clean-cut in suits, or pierced and tattooed — or something in between — I guess all Christian young people who love the Lord (and those Christians who are young at heart) have a viable testimony to give, and the variety of music styles that they may be inclined to will demonstrate this, I guess.

Thanks for your post, anyway!

Blessings.
