Revelations of Jesus

Jesus gave us a formula for awakening and growth in Him. Not only is it how we come to understand that He is the son of God but it is how we come to understand all aspects of who He is.

Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

What is it we are to ask? What are we supposed to seek? On what door are we supposed to knock? I must start this out by saying that it is all about Jesus. We are to ask God who Jesus is. This isn’t just a question for those who have not received the revelation that Jesus is the son of God. This is a question we must all keep asking for the rest of our lives until we see Him face to face and know Him in His fullness. (Corinthians 13:12) When we gain revelation of different aspects of Christ’s identity we gain faith to be empowered by that identity for the express purpose to overflow Him into the lives of the people around us that He may be glorified. Blessed to be a blessing! What do we ask? We ask for His spirit of wisdom and revelation to understand who Jesus is.

Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

What are we to seek? We are to dig deep into His Word seeking Jesus. Jesus is the Rock. He is the immovable Rock! We are to seek out ways of doing what His word says and in this become like Him.

Luk 6:47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:
Luk 6:48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.

What door do we knock on? Jesus is the door! He is just waiting for us to take action on the faith He gave us when we found out, by divine revelation, a new aspect of who He is. When you do this the power of God will be opened to you.

Joh 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

God has set before us clear and concise ways of getting to know Him. It all must start with asking Him who He is, seeking Him in His Word, and doing what His Word tells us to do. None of this comes except by personal revelation given by God. The revelation of who Jesus is only stops when we come face to face with Him or when we stop asking, seeking, and knocking. It is on those revelations that Jesus is building His church and it is through those revelations that we are given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Mat 16:15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Mat 16:16 Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Imagine that! Ask for that. Seek that. Knock on Him and He will provide that!

Jesus you are my strong tower.
You are my immovable rock.
You are my salvation.
You are my redemption from the curse of the law.
You are my peace that surpasses all understanding.
You are my healer.
You are my provider.
You are my goodness.
You are my shepherd.
You are my righteousness.
You are my life.
You are my God.

Each revelation is like an infinitely faceted diamond. Each time we look at it through the light of Christ he shows us a new aspect of himself.

Mat 7:8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

No matter what stage in His Life we are, we must always keep asking for new revelation on who He is as we dig deep into His word searching out the Rock and knocking on the door that is Jesus for Him to open us up to God the Father.
