My church forbids addressing clergies or pastors as reverend.

not qualified.
A "Reverend" is a person who has been formally "ordained" into Ministry. It is only a matter of preference. But apparently your pastor has not been ordained? Then that person is not even a pastor?

Gosh, then I guess our entire belief was based on an "unqualified" guy with a bunch of "unqualified" followers. (Thank God!)

But would that float with many people today who feel they have to see a man's diploma?
im in the middle of that debate. I do think that if one is led to got to a godly seminary then one should. its not a requirement.

Oh Boy..... did you jump into that "Seminaries" Thread that just started up?

It was on another site, as I recall.
ok. I know that argument. my step daughter tried that one and said well whenever you tell me what the bible says and we don't have proof of that prophecy happening its a commentary. she didn't agree to that at first then I begin to speak big words and she what? I then broke it down for about how long it takes to dig and where to go and what is grey and what isn't.she got the point.

After a little chat with one of them...he told me men are not qualified at all. The word Reverend was used once in the bible...and God was addressed as Reverend. That was the only use.
