Rock the Light festival

Did any of you go to any of the Rock the Light festival locations this weekend? I went to the one at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO, and thought it was an amazing experience. Here's all that went down.

It started out with The Great Romance. Their song Live for Today was a highlight, as they showed it had a different meaning for christians and a different one for non-christians. Great band, and great faith.

Next up was Michael Robert. A guy with talent and a huge passion for god. Great worship music. If you ever get the chance to see him, go for it.

Then I checked out Sugartown. I'm not sure what to think of the band. All I remember was a cover of Jimmy Eat World. Wasn't sure how christian it was, as messages were kinda hard to make out.

Terra Terra Terra was next. They preached a message that made me almost cry tears of joy. Their songs were the complete opposite though. They had one song that goes "I got this faith in my heart. It's gonna bubble bubble bubble." It was a really fun worship song!

After Terra Terra, I took a break with the music, and participated in the Prayer Path. It's an 11 step spiritual journey where you listen to audio, and then hear lectures about different principles from God and Jesus.

Once that was done, I sat at the main stage for Stellar Kart and Kutless. Stellar Kart had great songs dedicated to Jesus, and had interesting covers of Bon Jovi's Livin on a Prayer and Aladin's Whole New World. Kutless surprised me, as I never heard them before. They started out with real heavy songs, then suddently they mellowed down with true worship songs. My friend and I were surprised, but liked it.

Finally, the Newsboys! Or should I say the DC Newsboys, or DC Boys! Michael Tait did a great job with them at the show. He was entertaining to watch with his interesting dance moves. Then halfway into their act, Tait talked about the love God has for us, and how everyone of us needs to show that to others. Then we went into the Breakfast song. Finally, an encore of Jesus Freak.

This was a great show. It was nice being able to go to a concert without the booze and drugs that I saw at all the other concerts I went to this summer. It's also pretty cheap. A must go to for this year or next year.

So anyone else go? If so, what did you think?
