this is a very long route, and has a lot of driving it out.

May things go well! Saying a prayer.

it wasn't as bad as I thought. frustrating yes but I did do that route and didn't need others to assist me. unlike three others when they read that first time. I did think I wasn't going to make it. I did miss three meters that I couldn't find. greg was right it is a hellish route and you got to move fast. I thought marbrisa was bad. I will get used to this one to as I did with marbrisa and my two other move my tail fast routes.

on a side note. the area shown was used for d day /lsa training and mine laying for that and was full of mines. nothing of that remains. much to my chagrin.

I don't like drive routes.

I don't blame you for that, my friend. You spend more time starting & stopping the vehicle than the time spent reading the meters.

Hmmmm.......... perhaps the meters should be placed next to the mailboxes on the side of the roadway. Easier to do drive-by-readings.

lol. I wish. but on a1a, that can be deadly. zoom on that image. and see the traffic. its always busy and it really needs to be widened but the wealthy don't care. in Melbourne that road is a four laner. they don't like to stop. funny thing is that as soon as I cross the county line which I do for two meter. traffic is about nil.

It's been quite a few years, but I have traveled the A1A. Had to .... for posperity......

The A1A is rather like Route 66 .... gotta do the drive at least once in a lifetime

how so? I have been on route 66. I remember the older days of hotels , bed and breakfasts and also gas stations along us1. what I saw of route 66 wasn't any different. here for nostalgia. I believe this is dated in the 60's . a bit rugged today but used for the homeless. it also had a pool and later was filled in. this is on the hospital route. definitely 50ish.

There are certain roadways one should experience, the A1A and Route 66 are but two of them.

I have driven a1a from the martin county(stuart) to as far as cocoa beach. where have you been on it?

Did the full length. Was headed for the Keys, so decided to take a ride on the A1A.

us1! not a1a. they are totally different. though at times a1a does follow that road. but to the keys its only us1. now it makes sense. where us1 goes to the keys used the same bridges that flagler built and was destroyed in the hurricanes. the bridges were repaired. when I went there some of the old remnants of the rr could be found. parts of the tress bridges. the seven mile bridge that I remember isn't the same.
