That's such a cool bridge! Rather pleasant way to travel in early 1984. (It was the one featured in True Lies, if I'm not mistaken)

yes. I fished off it. and it was closed then though we did travel it before the new one was opened. That's such a cool bridge! Rather pleasant way to travel in early 1984. (It was the one featured in True Lies, if I'm not mistaken)
in tampa? uhm that was hurricane Frederick that did that and I was about seven then.Do you recall when the Sunshine Skyway Bridge was damaged in May of 1980? We had planned to drive across that bridge, but our plans were for the day after it was hit. Obviously, we couldn't go that route!
that was in the mid 80's and that shut down the bridge for a few years. the four storms also once again did some damage to that bridge.Tampa/St Pete .......... it was a ship that crashed into it in the early hours of the morning (well, maybe around 6 or so)...... it was storming that morning. Amongst the vehicles that fell off the bridge was a Greyhound Bus.
it wasn't demolished until 1993. it was used until the new one was built.Very true...it was deemed unstable after the 1980 crash.
