Thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice we have the chance to be children of God once again. All we have to do is believe with our heart that Jesus is the son of God, that He died for our sins, was raised from the dead by his father, and confess this with our mouth. With that we are washed clean in His blood and found righteous for our faith. For Christ is the propitiation, (atonement) for the entire world’s sin.
Now, try as though we might, we can not attain the perfection of a sinless state because we have not been given the full revelation of Christ. For we know that when He is revealed we will be like Him and “it has not yet been revealed what we shall be.†So it is for us to practice righteousness, and we do. Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect, so because we have not the full revelation of Christ we can not practice perfectly. Even though we may not practice sin we are still predisposed to it. Thank You God that you sent us your son to be our advocate in this dark world. Thank God that all we have to do is recognize it as sin, confess it as such, repent from practicing it and know that we are covered in His blood. This is the hope we have. That God has made us His children even in our sin full nature. Though we hate our very own nature, and the sin that occurs from it, when Christ is revealed we shall be made like Him, casting off this nature of sin.
Ending, finally, our constant struggle to be worthy of being a subject of the Kingdom of God and to not be influenced by the kingdom of this world. All of this leads to why we must be humble, for we all sin, why we need Christ to make us worthy, and why our hope leads us to constantly battle the sin full nature of this existence. Our action of battling the pull of this world is an example of our faith. Now when we fail, which we inevitably will, and our heart convicts us then we can not face God with out guilt. But God is greater than our hearts conviction and he knows who we are better then ourselves. He knows our heart better than we do. Quite frankly if our heart is convicting us of a sin our member has done then our heart is in the right and God knows that.
What truly happens when you feel guilt for committing a sin? Our heart convicts our mind of letting it happen and our mind feels the guilt. And so confession before God is there to appease the guilt of the mind for in confessing we are forgiven through Christ’s sacrifice. Thus we can “come to God with bold confidence,†knowing that what we ask within His will (the promises of the Bible) in Jesus name, we will receive for His glory.
