Sacrifice

Now God sacrificed an animal for Adam and Eve, but when did people start sacrificing animals for God? Was it when Abraham took his son up, and in his obedience God placed the Ram in the bush for him? and that's when it started? I don't recall anytime before this event a sacrifice for God. Please advise.

Able sacrificed the firstborn of his flocks (Gen. 4:4). Noah also made sacrifices when he left the ark (Gen. 8:20).
