Samba troubleshoot

I'm having a problem with filesharing between my Linux OS and my Windows OS. I bring up Samba on Linux. Then, I make a workgroup called TUX-NET. In Windows I go into the workgroup TUX-NET. It sees the Linux computer but it can't access it. Windows says that it isn't detectable. In Linux when I try to see Windows it doesn't even show Windows. It's just blank. Could someone give me some suggestions?
