you are adding to scripture. Give me the book, chapter and verse that says God calls being overweight sin and calls for a sacrafice or confession of such. Also show me the guidlines that God gives for what constitutes being overweight.
Deuteronomy 20:21-22 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
This passage is about a rebellious child who is sinning. His sins are drunkeness, the excessive consupmtion of alchohol, and gluttony, the excessive consumption of food and drink.
Proverbs 23:20-21Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Once again, gluttony is associated with the sin of drunkeness.
Philipians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Those who allow their stomachs to rule their lives are destined for destruction.
Finally, even without these express warnings against gluttony, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Overeating is a sin on so many levels. Gluttony has been explicitly mentioned. It is clearly a form of greed to regularly eat more than you need. Obesity is a slow form of suicide. Virtually every aspect of ones health is harmed by obesity. Those who overeight regularly lust after food and have cravings that they do not resist buy simply give in to.
