Same Sex Salt

Luke 17:28-35 New International Version (NIV)
28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.

It is interesting how the bible reflects our current social behavior. Take for example the age old story of Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot and his wife were told to flee the immorality of the city and were warned, 'not to look back!'.

We all know that Lot's wife did look back and instantly turned into a 'pillar of salt'. A pillar of salt is interesting, in that, the bible didn't say that Lot's wife turned into a statue of salt. The only remnant of her existence on earth is now nothing more than 'pillar' of salt. It's the 'Great Flood' in reverse! (hint: California drought!)

God preserved only the disobedient act of Lot's wife while her actual life here on earth disappeared into an anonymous 'pillar of salt'. This same event is happening today as many people, especially Christians, are supporting same sex marriage. And like Lot's wife when she 'looked back', all those who support same sex marriage are turning into a pillar of salt themselves!

Notice what a 'pillar of salt' represents, especially for Lot's wife. When Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt her forward progress was halted, preventing her from fleeing, and any progress in retreating back to Sodom or Gomorrah was also halted. So there was no progress at all after Lot's wife looked back.

Today you see the same phenomenon as those who support same sex marriage are unable to solve the simplest problem, especially by politicians and governments. Governments are locked in a vicious crippling cycle of political gamesmanship where one group of people try to thwart the actions and interests of another group. There is no appreciable movement in any direction when people become just a pillar of salt!

Equally when Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt she was unable to voice her plight to her fleeing husband. Imagine if God allowed Lot's wife to call out to her husband thereby causing him to 'look back' and thereby Lot would have joined his wife in her disobedience.

Again, today you see the same phenomenon as those who support same sex marriage are unable to carry out the simplest conversation towards those who oppose same sex marriage. Those who support same sex marriage have such a disdain for those who oppose them that they are crippled with intemperate indignation and disapprobation! I've seen preachers and laypeople become so hostile towards anyone who dares debate the inappropriateness of same sex marriage that they will do anything to silence any opposition, especially within themselves.

When someone turns into a pillar of salt that person is unable to move forward or back in any appreciable way. Their movement whether socially, financially, politically, etc. becomes hindered by God's judgment. Equally these people produce silence, both internally within themselves, and externally towards others, when discussing their own disobedience towards God in regards to their support for LGBT. A person may increase the size of his, or her, pillar of salt but the fact remains that, in regards to God, they are still a pillar of salt - completely anonymous to God!

One must realize that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah isn't necessarily about one specific instance of God's judgment here on earth. But the story pertains to our spiritual relationship with God in regards to LGBT support and behavior. It is evident that those who practice LGBT behavior are removed from God's consciousness while those who support LGBT behavior without participating in the sinful act become anonymous to God (hint: a pillar of salt). In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah God is highlighting the fact that there is a difference.

It must be remembered that Satan used God's own word (hint: the bible) against God himself (hint: as Jesus Christ - God become man) to try and tempt God in the desert. People today try to obligate God into accepting our immorality by quoting scripture just like Satan did in the desert. The notion that God's love prevents him from hating our sin.

If you find yourself trying to flee the immorality of this world then just take heart and keep fleeing and trust in your belief in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, who said to flee immorality. Only Jesus Christ will preserve you and prevent you from becoming just another 'pillar of salt' by helping you resist the temptation to look back with fondness at all the immorality in this sinful world. And for those who become a pillar of salt they will strive to silence the righteous and subsequently they will be unable to move forward, or back, when the 'real' judgment of God arrives (hint: The Great Tribulation – Read, or listen, to the Book of Revelation).

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and be like the thief on the cross alongside Jesus Christ. One thief wanted to be saved while the other thief on the other side had already become a pillar of salt taunting God, who was Jesus Christ, to.....just 'look back'!

God Bless

note:

Just before God caused the Great Flood he lamented that he was sorry that he made man. Soon after the Great Flood God then destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. So here you have evidence that God will always hate the sin of man and yet we celebrate that sin by incorporating it into a same sex marriage ceremony. I'm sure that Lot, the one righteous man left in Sodom and Gomorrah, made mention of the 'Great Flood' as a warning against the gross immorality practiced in Sodom and Gomorrah. Even the symbol of the LGBT movement today, of a rainbow, is Satan's way of taunting God with God's own promise made after the Great Flood of a rainbow. The arrogance of man is continually on display before God...The Rapture Draws Near!

People find satisfaction categorizing our acts of sin as an opportunity for God to show us his continual love and mercy whereby we make God's love into a rainbow cloak to warn God against harming us for our sins ever again. We use God's love and bible verses just like kryptonite was used against the comic book hero Superman, to thwart any negative consequences against us by God due to our sins.

I find it interesting that many churches who advocate for same sex marriage have dwindling church attendance. I've been visiting many churches recently and I've seen poor attendance in both rich and poor areas. But I have noticed a notable sector of society that is attending church. Most would call these people the 'great unwashed' as they reflect the poor and downtrodden of society. While they lack to sophistication to bother with the 'genteel' aristocratic theological arguments concerning same sex marriage they have a humble heart that warrants inclusion in God's paradise. In fact this bible verse states that as the end draws near….......

Matthew 22:8-10 New International Version (NIV)
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

This verse points out that in the last days God's servants will go out to find those who truly want to be included at God's banquet of righteousness. These people will come from the lower income classes who seek God's righteousness rather than those displaying their own 'rich' theological virtuousness by supporting the immorality of same sex marriage.

Amen

Hi, The Word of God is clear on this sin. There is no mistaking it for something else if they read the Scripture text. The reason some people can't find it is the same reason a thief can not find the police.......not looking for them.

In Christ
