Bible Study Satan – Mary – and the Last Supper

Satan – Mary – and the Last Supper

It is interesting that when Mary tempted her God (hint: Jesus Christ) at the wedding feast (John 2:1-11) that caused Jesus Christ to turn water into wine she duplicated the same temptation as Satan did in the desert when Satan tempted his God (hint: Jesus Christ) to turn stones into bread.

These two separate temptations, of changing stones into 'Bread' and water into 'Wine', represent the New Covenant (hint: Holy Communion) that Jesus Christ eventually initiated at his Last Supper!

Again, these two separate temptations at the beginning of Jesus Christ's earthly ministry foretold of the eventuality of Jesus Christ becoming the bread and wine (hint: body and blood) of our salvation on the cross at his crucifixion due to all of our sins!

Even Mary needed a Savior, her own son and God, Jesus Christ!

John 12:32 New International Version (NIV)
32 And I, when I am lifted up[a] from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Footnotes:
  1. John 12:32 The Greek for lifted up also means exalted.
If you are drawn to Jesus Christ then just believe in Christ's death and resurrection and rest assured that all of your sins are forgiven and be confident that you'll spend eternity with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit in heaven!

Amen

Hebrews 8:12-13 New International Version (NIV)
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”[a]

13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

  1. Hebrews 8:12 Jer. 31:31-34

The first miracle! Gotta just LOVE the subtle showings therein!

Six STONE pots, filled with water by instructions from Jesus. Then turned to fine wine at the end of the wedding feast.

So many beautiful allegories, hidden therein.

There is lots of allegorical symbolism in these verses, but I wouldn't say Mary tempted Jesus, for that implies Jesus succumbed to temptation. Rather, Mary made known a need which she believed Jesus could fulfill. She didn't instruct Him how to fulfill it, but told the servants to follow Jesus' instructions whatever they might be.

Jhn 2:3 - And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Jhn 2:4 - Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Jhn 2:5 - His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
