Satan Tempts Jesus Christ With His Own Love
Many in the Christian faith have intimated, by their acceptance of every sinful act, that since God is love God will excuse every sin man has ever committed. This argument was the exact same argument that Satan used on Jesus Christ when he tempted Christ in the desert.
Satan's final temptation of Jesus Christ played on Christ's Godly love by offering Jesus the entire Kingdom of this world if he would only bow down to Satan. Satan was offering Jesus Christ the opportunity to bestow a huge communal forgiveness upon mankind. Jesus could have accepted Satan's offer in order to impart forgiveness upon everyone in the entire kingdom down here on earth just by gaining lordship over it. Just think of the ramification. Jesus could have granted every person forgiveness without anyone ever asking for it, which would be a violation of man's God given freewill.
Again, Jesus Christ could have made God's love manifest in every person's life without their even asking for it by an act of communal forgiveness if only Jesus would bow down to Satan. Jesus could have shown that God's love overrides even God's own righteousness by accepting Satan's offer of submission.
But of course Jesus Christ's (hint: God's only son) love for God the Father's righteousness stood resolute against Satan's temptation that tried to use Christ's own love against Christ himself. Even today we have many examples of people using the misplaced application of God's love to invalidate God's own righteousness (hint: same sex marriage).
Thankfully Jesus didn't fall for the temptations of Satan that tried to discover whether Christ's love for mankind overtook God's own righteousness. God demands that a sin offering be required for all of our sins. Jesus took the hard road to the cross where he was placed on that cross to be a sin offering for all of our sins.
Satan offered Jesus the opportunity to save everyone, irrespective of their desire or knowledge for it, and Christ refused. Now each individual must come to the cross and ask for God's forgiveness, individually (hint: man's freewill), by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who is God the Father's son – God become man.
Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and rest assured you will be with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit,in heaven forever!
God Bless
