Bible Study Satan Wants Christians

Christ illustrated character building by a house built on a rock, against which storm and tempest were powerless, and the house built on the sand, which was swept away.
We are living in perilous times.

Amidst the changing scenes, with heresy and false doctrines coming in that will test the faith of all, the house built on the solid rock cannot be shaken. But when storm and tempest come, the house built on the sand will fall, and great will be the fall of it.

Let us take heed, then, how we build. Let no one build unwisely. The word of God is our only foundation.
Every semblance of error will come upon us.

Some of these errors will be very specious and attractive, but if received, they would remove the pillars of the foundation that Christ has established and set up a structure of man's building.

There are those who seeing, see not, and hearing, hear not, and under Satan's guidance they prepare false foundations for human minds.

Christ's lessons should be studied by everyone.

The truth is solid, substantial.
This truth is to be presented to all; for Satan will come in with his pleasing sentiments, which make nothingness of God's word and turn aside minds from the truth to fables.

We are approaching the end of this earth's history, and Satan is working as never before.
He is striving to act as director of the Christian world 2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
With an intensity that is marvelous he is working with his lying wonders. Satan is represented as walking about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He desires to embrace the whole world in his confederacy. Hiding his deformity under the garb of Christianity, he assumes the attributes of a Christian, and claims to be Christ Himself.

The Word of God declares that when it suits the enemy's purpose, he will through his agencies manifest so great a power under a pretense of Christianity that, "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" [Matt.24]
As the spirits will profess faith in the Bible and manifest respect for the institutions of the church, their work will be accepted as a manifestation of divine power.

The strongest bulwark of vice in our world is not the iniquitous life of the abandoned sinner or the degraded outcast; it is that life which otherwise appears virtuous, honorable, and noble, but in which one sin is fostered, one vice indulged. . . . Genius, talent, sympathy, even generous and kindly deeds, may thus become decoys of Satan to entice souls over the precipice of ruin.

We have far more to fear from within than from without.
The hindrances to strength and success are far greater from the church itself than from the world.

Unbelievers have a right to expect that those who profess to be keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, will do more than any other class to promote and honor, by their consistent lives, by their godly example and their active influence, the cause which they represent. But how often have the professed advocates of the truth proved the greatest obstacle to its advancement!

The unbelief indulged, the doubts expressed, the darkness cherished, encourage the presence of evil angels, and open the way for the accomplishment of Satan's devices.

Lying Spirits Contradict the Scriptures

The saints must get a thorough understanding of present truth, which they will be obliged to maintain from the Scriptures.
They must understand the state of the dead, for the spirits of devils will yet appear to them, professing to be beloved friends and relatives, who will declare to them that the Sabbath has been changed, also other unscriptural doctrines.

Christians, as personated by these lying spirits, are made to contradict what they wrote at the dictation of the Holy Spirit when on earth. They deny the divine origin of the Bible.

Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions.
While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome.

Persons will arise pretending to be Christ Himself, and claiming the title and worship which belong to the world's Redeemer.
They will perform wonderful miracles of healing, and will profess to have revelations from heaven contradicting the testimony of the Scriptures. . . .

But the commandment-keepers of God will not be misled.
The teachings of this false christ are not in accordance with the Scriptures.
His blessing is pronounced upon the worshipers of the beast and his image, the very class upon whom the Bible declares that God's unmingled wrath shall be poured out

False Revivals

I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth.

Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them.

Nice one JayT.

It's amazing that SO many of those that fill the churches 'seem' to be 'so blind' as to the influence satan has on the individual or collective 'souls' of the Christian community. How ignorant so many seem to be in the power that satan was given in his quest to 'replace' Christ in the Church. His overwhelming ability to seduce even those that 'think' that they are following the 'truth' is so subtle that many can't even comprehend that it exists and are following 'him' instead of God and His Son.

Nice post and take heed my fellow readers.

Refering to Christ's 2nd coming.....Jesus asks the question: "Will there be faith in the earth, at that time ? "

What would anyone say is the most evident example of the people following Satan instead of Christ blindly?

What does Satan really do to the church? What changes would be seen?

I love this guy- :o

One of the major changes would be the churches 'bowing' to the will of man rather than 'following' the will of the Father. Churches becoming 'people pleasers' rather than pleasers of God. The people 'pretending' to be Christians instead of following in His footsteps.

Any of this sound familiar?

Since the Bible declares that satan is at ...WAR....with God's Commandments: Revelation 12:17 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make [WAR] with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ". .....simply look at what the 10 commandments says, and one becomes aware that the 4th commandment, the 7th day sabbath is the one, that satan has convinced the Christian world to ignore.
Of course, the Bible did predict that satan would try to change God's Law regarding time......Daniel 7:25 'think to change times and laws'.

[quote:ee217]What does Satan really do to the church? What changes would be seen?
[/quote:ee217][/quote:ee217] Well, the doctrines of Sunday worship services are quite evident, as well as the doctrine of ....'man having an immortal soul-spirit', which is false.
Also, the Rapture theory as taught in the modern Christian world, is false too.

Christ taught us, (tried His best to), that 'he who will be greatest is he that 'serves' the MOST'. As one quickly observes in the modern churches, this is far removed from 'their' teachings. They would 'lead' us to believe 'just the opposite'. Through the example offered of the 'pastor' being the head of church, they do nothing other than teach us 'self will' or 'self-importance'. 'The Church' is 'the body'. Our modern churches are simply 'full of bodies'.

This is not hard to understand in light of 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.....
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his [ministers] also be transformed as the [ministers] of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

Satan has taken over most of the Christian world.

He has set up Sunday worship services to oppose the Lord's day (7th day sabbath), as Daniel 7:25 predicted.

And JayT,

Look how long ago this happened. One of the first of many changes that I believe constitute the 'falling away'. It started shortly after the formation of the Church and has increased in velocity ever since. At it's present rate of acceleration, how long do you think it will be before the entire Christian community has been led completely astray? Not speaking of 'every individual', but the average Wednesday and Sunday church attending 'Christian' that welcomes the changes that are taking place.

I agree with you that the changes happen long ago, and so gradually, that few saw what was happening.

Both the Apostles John and Paul saw the changes happening in their day !

Many desire an 'easy religion' the does not rock the boat.
They will find out too late....their mistakes !!!

But, it is our duty to alert them to satan deceptions (Sunday worship services, ect.), as the Lord has told us to do.
