Our chief enemy, Satan, only has recourse against people through the creation. All of his weapons are created objects--physical injury, physical sickness, temptation, poverty or any other method. But the armor of properly equipped Christians is the living God himself! Whatever weapons our archenemy uses—God Almighty is our perfect defense, as well as our infallible offense.
Paul's passage in Ephesians, familiar to most Christians, equips us with weapons that are not of this world—we wear the belt of what? Truth—not a created object, Christ himself. We wear the breastplate of what? Righteousness—Christ is our righteousness. Again, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God—these are all the very essence of God himself! Christ comprises our whole armor. Our armor is the living God!
Take Job for instance. Satan used the Sabeans, fire, the Chaldeans, wind, painful sores, Job's wife, and Job's friends to bring him down—All created objects. Satan's chief weapon is the human mind, a created object, but we also have the mind of Christ.
So remember, Satan is at a stark disadvantage against properly equipped Christians. Even his chief weapons are all of this world, while our infallible weapon is the Almighty God himself! So stand firm in your faith, for there is not any weapon forged against any child of God that will ever prevail! Stand firm.
