Ezekiel 28:2 "Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, 'Thus saith the Lord GOD; 'Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, 'I am a GOD, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas;' yet thou art a man, and not GOD, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
28:8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. (10) Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
11 Thessalonians 2:1-2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
This man, termed the prince of Tyrus, is symbolic of Satan's elect...the tares. And they are in among us, in the Temple of God, pretending to be Christian...the many antichrists John wrote of.
2:6-7 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work; only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2:8-9 And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the LORD shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy, with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.
- This is the prince, not the king, of Tyrus. Here he "hast said," and he sits in the seat of God. Past and present tense. This is now...today, when he sits in the "seat of God."
On the other side of the coin...who is The True King and who (is/are) His prince? Jesus and His man child (-ren), the elect. In Ezekiel the "king of Tyrus" is a type for Satan so who is the man in "thou art a man" or...who is Satan's prince of Tyrus? Is the "man" there many men, just as the man child of Jesus is many?
The following verse is future....
28:8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. (10) Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
- Notice that "deaths" is plural. Can one man die deaths? Is the prince of Tyrus one man?
- What "man" will try to deceive us? Who is "that man of sin?" The same man sitting in the "seat of God" today as taught in both Ezekiel and here in Thessalonians. This is present tense....this "man sitteth and is shewing himself" there now! Where is this? IN THE TEMPLE and where is the temple? We are the temple!
[list:2522cayq]1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
This man, termed the prince of Tyrus, is symbolic of Satan's elect...the tares. And they are in among us, in the Temple of God, pretending to be Christian...the many antichrists John wrote of.
- 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
2:6-7 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work; only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
- Iniquity - unlawlessness, wickedness, transgression of the law.
Mystery - a secret. (this word is only in the New Testament)
The secret of wickedness is already at work. Who is "he who now letteth" that will "be taken out of the way?" He, or they, are already working their wickedness but who (he/they) are will remain a (mystery/secret) until it is time...his time to be revealed.
2:8-9 And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the LORD shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy, with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.
