It was fascinating to watch the Democratsat their national convention nominate President Obama while at the same timerejecting GOD. Did anyone else see this? It came to their attention they had leftGod out of their platform, and in attempting to correct this they asked for a2/3 verbal vote from their delegates. They didn’t get it, and in fact, it probably wasn’t half. The Democrats rejected God, something Ithought never to see in my lifetime. This got me thinking about Samuel and the children of ancient Israel, for they too, rejected God.

And the LORD said unto Samuel, “Hearken untothe voice of the People in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but theyhave rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.†1 Samuel 8.7

I continued toread the irrefutable word of God and was intrigued that the LORD was so upset withthe children of Israel He sent a horrific thunderstorm storm upon them fortheir disobedience and rebellion. Thisgot me thinking about hurricane Sandy, Katrina and the devastating tornadoesthat hit Joplin and Tuscaloosa last year.

“Now therefore stand and see this greatthing, which the LORD will do before your eyes. Is it not wheat harvest today? [Rain not expected at that time ofyear] I will call unto the LORD and Heshall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickednessis great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you aking.†So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rainthat day: and all the People greatlyfeared the LORD and Samuel. 1 Samuel12.16

So, am I sayingthe LORD sent tornadoes and hurricanes on His children because we rejected GODin America? Nope, not me. I could say He has sent drought upon MiddleAmerica, as He did on Ahab and Jezebel, when He was upset with theirblasphemies, but I won’t say that either. I will say this; our Heavenly Father is not above using the weather, shouldHe care to teach His children something. The Holy Bible is full of examples.

Nowall of these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they arewritten for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standethtake heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians10.12
Ithink that we, upon whom the ends of the world have come, should be paying moreattention. Your thoughts are welcome.

The problem with this line of thinking is that it enables anyone to interpret any natural disaster (or even a non-natural disaster) as evidence that God is judging a position with which that person disagrees. There is too much speculation in this way of interpreting natural events.
