School Of Rock

Being a musician, I had to see it. (My favorite movie is "That Thing You Do.")

It is a satire/comedy about a rock guitarist impersonating a substitute school teacher. All he knows is music so, he decides to put tgether a rock band using the students. Some kids are musicians, singers, dancers, manager, roadies, sound crew, lighting, etc. but everyone has and important job in the band. The kids are real musicians and singers who use their talents!

On the plus side, there was no sex or bloodshed. There was a funny prayer but it did not blaspheme God and drugs were portrayed in a negative way.

On the bad side - There was some light profanity with ___ (slang word for donkey) being used a few times. One time the school principal said the the kids must think she's a (slang word for female dog) but mouthed it without saying it. That was it for profanity. Pretty surprizing for Hollywood! One scene showed two adults, each drinking a beer.

It was a really funny movie! I would buy the DVD. If you are a musician, you need to see this movie.

Jack Black is a comic GENIUS! High Fidelity...(rated R for heavy language and light sexual referances)... is BRILLIANT! i haven't seen school of rock yet, but i really want to.

I liked the movie alot and laughed thoroughly. Obviously the drug references and the lying to your parents so we can do this music thing at school weren't Christian ideals, but this is the world we live in.

Overall a fun flick I plan to buy.

yeah, it was pretty funny, but actually i found the prayer offensive, i know some of my Christian friends thought it was HILARIOUS, but i don't see how that should be funny for us.

Funny how profanity and lying are acceptable forms of entertainment for people who profess be believers. So much for holiness, eh?

The church is in the world and the world is in the church.....they are now completely compatible.

I thought this was a pretty good movie. I watched it for the second timelast night and it is a great movie for Jack Black.

"they are now completely compatible." umm, actually no, we're NOT supposed to be compatible, i know i'm not compatible with the world. God is calling us to a higher standard and believe it or not, many are hearing that call. not that i'm dissing this movie(it was a lot better than it could have been) i really had a problem with that particular part tho.
