Sea Serpent in the Garden of Eden

Recently there was a study that purposed that snakes first emerged from the sea. This fact has some merit if one looks carefully at the bible where a serpent interacted with Eve to cause her to sin against God.

When God made man he gave him dominion over the earth and everything on land and in the air. But God did not give man dominion over the water since man is biologically unable to exist in the water except to stay above its surface.

God gave Adam explicit instructions to care for his Garden. But because man is unable to venture into the water without experiencing death those instructions do not extend to anything in the water. Which is why God did not extend man's dominion over the water and seas.

Because man had no dominion over the water and sea Satan was free to use any creature in the sea to do his bidding. The serpent in the Garden of Eden did not have to respect man's dominion and could emerge from sea and travel on land to bring about man's downfall by refuting all that God commanded man (hint: not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). The sea serpent enticed Eve to sin against God by tempting her to eat the forbidden fruit in the belief that she would become like God.

Notice that when God finally learned of the serpent's involvement in this sin he cursed the serpent by making the serpent crawl on the GROUND for the rest of its existence on earth. God's curse of the serpent meant that the serpent was now forbidden to return to the sea where it had its own dominion apart from man, and now the serpent was under the direct dominion of man.

When God cursed the sea serpent, and made it a land animal, the serpent lost its dominion over itself and now mankind (hint: God become man as Jesus Christ) could now have dominion over the serpent and anything that possessed it (hint: Satan himself).

Notice that when Satan returns to this world, as depicted in the Book of Revelation, it emerges from the SEA as a dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns. Satan must come back to this world in physical form as some sort of creature from the sea for man has no dominion over the sea.

It will be interesting to see if all of man's genetic engineering isn't directly influenced by Satan to have man design a sea creature that Satan can then possess and emerge out of the water and lead all of mankind to their final doom during the Great Tribulation which is God's final judgment of mankind.

It should be noted that hell is called the “Lake of Fire” which denotes the fact that mankind has no dominion over anything that is liquid (hint: water, sea, blood, lava, etc.) even if it is a sea of fire instead of a sea of water. This means that once a person is thrown into the “Lake of Fire” he losses all dominion over everything God granted mankind at creation...including man himself.

God retains dominion over anything liquid including our blood which is why Jesus passed around the cup of wine representing his blood for only God (hint: as the person of Jesus Christ) has dominion over our blood! While God has dominion over anything that is liquid (hint: our blood) mankind's sin placed a curse on everything that has blood coursing through its body. The issue of sin MUST be resolved which means that death will not be conquered by any means under mankind's dominion.

Also, when Jesus turned water into wine Jesus was demonstrating God's dominion over anything and everything liquid (hint: walking on water) since Jesus is God become man.

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and rest assured that you'll never be thrown into the Lake of Fire where mankind loses all hope of redemption since his dominion over anything, including himself, is rendered null and void!

God Bless

Ever heard of a "floating forest"?

The Genesis account accurately describes one.

Also in ancient Egypt the serpent was a symbol of man's wisdom. Kind of like the owl is to us. But different.

I'd love to scripturally critique your story, but story telling is allowed in this section of the forum and seems to be immune from legitimate scriptural prosecution.

Dear Brother ugmug, are you familiar with the following scripture referring to the nations, as do the seven heads and horns that have been given power by Satan?

Isa 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

There is coming a time when there will be no more sea, but does that mean that there will be no oceans (Rev 21:1), or those wicked emissaries of Satan afflicting God’s people? they are devoured in the future according to Rev 20:7-9.

OOOOOPSIE! You missed something.
Gen 1:28 (RSV) And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."
So your major premise is wrong. (God did not give man dominion over the water)
And you minor premise is wrong: (Because man had no dominion over the water and sea Satan was free to use any creature in the sea to do his bidding.)
When God cursed the sea serpent, and made it a land animal, the serpent lost its dominion over itself
That is complete, unadulterated fantasy. You just made that up, right?
