SECRETS OF SUCCESS IN ALL THINGS..

iF YOU STUDY it, it's energy & enthusiasm, not natural ability

Hi!

By God's timing, I just found a CT mag feature @ 'Small Is Huge!'

It's link title, that made me read it, said that "Jesus favours mustard-size ministries"

My 1st thought, as a keen evangelist, is that Brits are already way too shy about sharing their faith

The article has many interesting, helpful things to say

But let's recall that the last thing Jesus said before miraculously ascending to Heaven on the clouds - (from where He will soon return in the same way as King of kings & Lord of lords!) - was our Great Commission to evangelise the world

I only have @ 4 mins

I'll just emhasise that cell/house groups have proved for decades that you can still have that intimate group - like Jesus did with the 12 - in the very biggest mega-churches

In fact, I don't know of 1 mega-church who don't ask folk to join their weekly small neighbourhood groups for in-depth fellowship, prayer, Bible study, etc

Must go!

JUst time to post this PM's extra thought:-

Hi!

So sorry that I had no time to answer your question on Sun

Did ya notice that I copied that PM to start a thread @ the secrets of success in all things?

I'll copy part of this now to continue it & part to start a Lent feature:-

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060227/ap_ ... mardi_gras

The media quite deliberately use 'the process of gradual information' - they run the 1st part of a story, guage reaction & take it from there

What challenged me on Sun was to make sure my priorities lined up with God's

We evangelists can be so caught up in finishing our Great Commission, to speed the Lord's return, that we focus too much on seizing whatever opening will reach the highest number of folk, that we can sometimes neglect vital 1-2-1 time with needy folk

Jesus was most aware of His mission to save the world

& that it often meant taking quality time out to minister 1-on-1 to needy individuals

To cut a long story short, as Romans 8:28 reminds us, "ALL things work together for good to those who love God"

As Lent starts on Wed, I'd say it's kinda like the best approach to fasting: it's not the grim gritting of the teeth but the all-consuming excitement of the child, who gets so caught up in the enjoyment of the moment that all desire for food vanishes, yes?

I'll never forget my 1st & best lead guitarist tell me, when I was a mad keen Beatle fan, "Ian: never put all your eggs in 1 basket - even the Beatles"

He was right: if a band is versatile, they get work in more places than 1 who only play/sing in 1 style

Yes, that one on one time is important. If we're only out there saving as many people as we can without helping them on their Christian walk after salvation, then we're only going for numbers - which is all Satan's thinking about. We have to remember the person later, too, like God.

Each soul is important, and God wants us to bring as many to Christ as we possibly can. However, He doesn't want us to forget about them after they've become saved. Sadly, though, this happens a lot. I pray that we'll always remember to not only bring them to Christ, but to help the grow as well.

In Christ,

CLY
