Brethren, I've written a few technical series to help people on this forum, and I'm about to start another one. Researching how to secure your Android smart phone against malware, I was surprised at how contradictory and often incorrect different articles are. So, please come back to this thread tomorrow for a simple, easy-to-understand series on how to protect your phone.

And please feel free to add your own comments and questions.

In order to prevent world-wide panic, I've moved this next article up to the front.

Your Android smart phone already has an anti-malware program installed without your knowledge. Every 24 hours, it scans your cell phone (often between 1 and 2 AM), and deletes malware.

They don't want you to know because they are afraid that you will turn it off. However, it does not record what it finds, nor does it report what it finds to anyone. It simply keeps you safe.

How safe does it keep you? Almost no one ever gets an Android virus, and the few viruses they do get are eliminated within 24 hours.

So now you can relax while you read the next several articles that explain all this.
