Seeking God

When people speak of encounters with Jesus, it's a visitation. I want a visitation. Who wouldn't?! Has Jesus ever came to visit you? I was pondering this the other day after watching a testimonial vid on youtube.

And it occurred to me...Scripture says 'seek God', not wait on God to come to you. (Ok well, it does say that too, lol) So I began wondering about seeking God. It says seek God and you will find Him. I suppose this would be akin to trying to see through the veil. We can do it because the veil was rent when He gave up the ghost. So we do have access to the kingdom realm.

Do you seek God? How do you seek God?I'll stop there for now. :)

I've never had what a lot of people call a "visitation". I don't recall ever meeting someone who has had one either. I've talked to a few people who have claimed to have been visited by God, but on getting more details it became clear there was a much greater chance is was a visitation from a mental ilness than from God.

Most Christians spend more time brushing their teeth each day than they do reading scripture, and most will never read the whole Bible in their entire lives. I have my doubts that God would make special "visitations" on a regular basis to people who for the most part haven't bothered to seek Him enough to even read His word.

If God is Adonai to you, He is the one to whom you submit or bow down; He is the Boss of your life. Adonai is the ultimate authority figure in your life and the One to whom you owe your complete allegiance. ADONAI is the password to experience JEHOVAH and ELOHIM.

You have not begun to see what God can do until He becomes your Adonai!

Exactly. Those may be the ones who hear depart from me, I never knew you. I've never had a visitation myself, but the Holy Spirit did speak to me one day. It was heart to heart and not audible but there was no doubt it was Him. I've watched a lot of testimony vids where people describe visitations and I have no reason to doubt all of them. Curiously enough, many of them say that they were praying when Jesus showed up (not all of them!)

I'm starting to think that we should pursue Him actively beyond reading scripture and praying. It is written that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, so the veil can't be that thick. We just have to approach the veil and knock. We're told to pursue relationship. What better way than seeking Him out and shaking His hand (or falling down at His feet.) :thud

That's it, isn't it? It takes a certain amount of shifting mentally to live like this. To go from believer to friend or son. Believing in God is one thing, but living your life with Him as your Master takes a bit of adjustment. We are not of this world and walking in that spiritual realization...could make a guy look looney.

To me that is what keeps many people from truly following Jesus and His ways is "looking looney".
I have not had a visitation yet, but i have had Him speak to me. Like you said it was not an audible voice, but i knew it was Him. And i believe that the more we seek Him and his kingdom (His ways of doing and being right) mt 6:33 amp, we will be able to hear Him more, even in the little things that many people believe He doesn't care about.

Its not hard for me to hear him talking to me now that Im closer to him even with me being a distracted mess.Im so much more sensitive to him now.But I do believe people have visitations.

We want God to do what the word says He can do without giving Him the right to own. God is not going to give you more of JEHOVAH if you are not willing to submit to ADONAI. If a Christians is not willing to give him ownership or allow Him to become master of your life then the information flow stops, ceases, lessens, drips, rather than being full force with more data on God fulfilling what His word proclaims He will and can do. Many Christians want God to get them to heaven but not own them on earth.

Jesus is ADONAI in the New Testament. He says, "“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?" In other words, you are talking that talk but I do not own you. So you get to take care of you. The reason why more Christians are not being delivered is because they have believed until salvation but not confess until Lordship. Until the Lordship issue is settled the manifestation of GOD - JEHOVAH and ELOHIM will be limited or negated in a Christian life. Acts 2:36 says, God has made Jesus Lord and Christ. The slave to Christ becomes the Lords freeman - 1 Corinthians 7:21-24. In other words the more you become a slave to Jesus the freer you become as a person. The less you are a slave to Jesus the more bound you become as a person.
