I have been listening to a preacher for the last 2 years, a Church of Christ preacher and is bible based teaching. Hearing these sermons has truly changed my life and my faith and has given me so much knowledge to understand and make learning simple, just like Jesus wanted.

The preachers name is Billy Lambert and the website is:

www.gettingtoknowyourbible.com

Go to the bible corner and search the titles of the scriptures....

The greatest miracle is the transformation of the human heart.

How has God accepted you?

How has God accepted you?

Wow, good question. It is not how God has accepted me because He was always there. It is how I accepted God....

It has been an unexplainable transformation that only God and I understand. It is more of a transformation of my soul through constant and consistent daily prayer, devotion, study, fellowship, worship, and not forsaking the assembly.

My day starts out with study at 4:30 in the morning and I read scripture from the Old Testament, New Testament and a verse or two from Proverbs and the Psalms.

I think I should be on the testimonial thread but since you asked I appreciate that...

I liked what I read!
Especially the "Why the church is OF Christ" part.

Thank you,
~Sparrow

Truly, if anybody cannot figure out the bible or where to start, the web site I posted is a GREAT way to get started. There are so many different sermons that will help you with any struggle or even joy or thankfulness you experience. Scripture is clearly quoted so I suggest a pen and paper to take notes!

What type of person were you before you accepted Jesus in your life?

I think this is more suited for the testimonial thread but I was raised Catholic...I always had great faith and a gift of discernment from a very young age. I raised my 2 daughters in the Catholic faith and they went to private schools.

When I met my husband I was converted to Church of Christ, a non-denominational- Bible based church. I was baptized at 47 years old and was the best, wisest decision I have ever made.

I thank my husband and mother in law for their patience and guidance throughout my conversion. I now have a true relationship with God and cannot wait to start my day to read the gospel.

My life was rocky but now with God's continual, forgiving love and guidance have finally found peace, compassion, love and my fleshly ways are diminishing, but it takes work because the struggle between flesh and spirit always exists....

It is nice to read that God The Father and God The Son guide you through God The Holy Spirit. God said, "I will not, I will not, I will not, ever forsake you". Though our flesh is weak and sometimes influenced by the world around us, God said he will never leave us.

Thank you, so what led you to CF and your short story?

The death of my only son who was 17 years old in Feb. 2012 has change me.

My letter to my son today.

Not a day, not a moment goes by that I don’t think about you, and miss you. There are absolutely no words to describe the hurt, and pain we continue to experienced as your parents. Without any doubt these have been the most difficult days I have ever walked through. I have no words. But just as I have no words for the pain, I also have no words for how incredibly faithful God has been. He has lavished grace upon grace upon grace over and over again. We always told each other “I love you” with a smile. You always made us proud parents as you continue to do. You will always be a shinning star for our family, and for all of heaven. Though I can’t bring you back, I will come to you someday. You will say “dad”! And I will say “my son”! “I am home forever”! Love, Dad.

Though I can’t bring you back, I will come to you someday. You will say “dadâ€! And I will say “my sonâ€! “I am home foreverâ€! Love, Dad.

That is so sad and I had to take a moment and feel what you must feel. I could not imagine losing one of my children...words cannot define that loss.

Sorry but it sounds like you have God to get you through this and we will be united one day.

Our son had just signed a full 4 year football scholarship to play in Alabama. He died from a blood clot that reached his lungs in the hospital. Our son was denied emergency care after being transported by ambulance in resipatory duress because of the color of his skin. What happen to our son can't happen again in America. My son should be burying his father someday. Not me burying my son.

The bible makes it clear that the earth is only your temporary residents, whether it is long term or short term.
Jesus was very honest. He told us the truth. He said in John 16:33, " You will have suffering in this world". He didn't say you might - he said it is going to happen.

The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy.

The story of Job in the bible is my life story. It does not matter if god sent it or allowed this to happen my faith is strong. My son's last post on Facebook just before he became ill was in all Caps "I LOVE GOD". Four days later after my sons death when I was by myself, God sent his Angel to me to tell me your son is in Heaven with JESUS.

I just listened to a sermon the other day when friends or family will tell you, "I know how you feel", or "I know what you are going through," I will not say that because I do not know how you feel or what you are going through.

Your son was chosen so early but you have the faith to understand....I really feel so much compassion for you and your family. Keep on going, God has a plan for you, for all of us.

Psalm 23:1-4 (KJV)
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thank you for your kind and supportive words, I really do appreciate them.
