My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. Those who are teachers/shepherds. Will be strictly judged by Jesus. This isn't a game. Why hasn't the student made any advances in Gods word? Why can't the shepherds answer moderate questions??.
Jesus is getting reports by angels in heaven.
Hebrews chapter 5:12 for when for time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principal of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
The flocks and new converts need nourishment. They need pastor or teacher to train them. Shepherds of God are supposed to be able to teach on three levels. Its shame a teacher/pastor can't teach parable of the fig tree. Or teach the three world ages. Or teach the seals and trumps of revelation??. The shepherds are supposed to know Gods word!!!. 5:14. But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those rare are of full age, even those by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Those who put clothe on. They better know God's word. Misleading people is serious business!!. Making mistakes, Jesus will judge the individual very strictly. Even teachers keep studying the bible. Were to flourish. Someone who lacks knowledge is of no use to God.
On judgement day. I'm eager to hear man of the clothe explain to Jesus. That he/she didn't have to study revelation or old testament. I want to see how well that goes with Jesus.
Question: Will Jesus coddle the individual who mislead people??.
Do false preachers have eternal life?.

Jesus will throw false teachers into the lake of fire.

Have you never read:-

Matthew 18:6-7 New International Version Causing to Stumble

6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!

This not just aimed at teachers and pastors, but also to parents teaching their children and friends talking/teaching their friends.

Hey All,
Anaphora, simply put, nobody is perfect. (Except me of course! Hahahahah. Just kidding.) One can be a teacher and not know everything. I have been studying the Bible for around 55 years, and I don't know all of it. That is one of the complexities of Scripture.
I believe the stricter judgment will fall on those who knowingly teach false doctrine. There are also those who will make up something to cover up the fact they do not know the correct answer. These are examples of purposeful deceit.
That is my observation.
May God bless,
Taz

In one place God says we should all be teachers by now yet we still have need of being taught.

and on the other hand

Let not many of us be masters...

Although it seems to contradict (to some) it doesnt.

We should be teachers for the main reason of we have a God who backs up all things He says in the word.

We should be teachers because we have a Holy Spirit to lead us in truth and all righteousness.

But since believers (some) need to be taught again they shouldnt be teachers...

Because they will be judged more harshly.

This site has many more visitors online than members so maybe teachers are teaching thousands? Idk... but think of Copeland and other teachers who have reached billions

I remember hearing 20? Years ago how Copeland roberts swaggert and others have had over a million students each....
And those students have taught many many more and I consider these men (and others) to be false teachers, and since most of these stayed in america you understand why many church's today are false teaching.... some men and women know they are teaching falsely while others are ignorant of the truth.... unless they have believed on his name and repented of this they will be in the lake of fire suffering worst than many unbelievers....

I think the worst punishment would be that you would be able to look up and see life going on in of the elect with God and knowing you had it right within your grasp and you have done the most unimaginable thing to yourself.....

To know your there forever never ending

Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.

Yes I have. Parents are not shepherds/teachers. They do have responsibilities to teach morals and ethics to thier children. Ephesians chapter 6 to document.
Jesus will judge the teacher's and parents at different degree. Parents won't be held as high as shepherds or teachers.
Matthew 18:6. Is talking about God's Elect. The election are of the churches of Philadelphia and smyrna of revelation chapter 2, 3. I studied with pastor Arnold murray 22 years before he passed away in 2014.
We disagree little bit my friend. Take care.

Jesus is speaking in marr18 and he is referring to anyone who leads children astray.

Jesus is getting reports by angels in heaven.

God the Son, Jesus Christ, is omniscient. Except during his short time on earth, he has always known everything. He doesn't need, nor does he receive, reports from angels. But I get the point of what you're saying: You think the "under-shepherds" over God's flock aren't teaching well.

What "under-shepherds" - Elders - over the Church are to be able to do most of all is lead others into a deep, rich, daily experience of God. Religious information is not the apex of Christian living; God is. It's much less demanding, though, to just accumulate knowledge about God than to actually walk with Him in love, faith, submission and holiness everyday. And so, many of today's would-be teachers of the Church can tell you how deep the public baths were in Rome during Christ's time, they can lay out incredibly complex systems of prophecy (with charts and diagrams, too), they can parse the Greek of Scripture with ease, but they know little of what it is to walk in humility, faith and love with God, enjoying intimate communion with Him every day. It is God, though, that is the Center, the Ultimate Aim, of the Christian faith who calls us unto fellowship with Himself (1 Corinthians 1:9; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 1:3).

Those who put clothe on. They better know God's word. Misleading people is serious business!!. Making mistakes, Jesus will judge the individual very strictly. Even teachers keep studying the bible. Were to flourish. Someone who lacks knowledge is of no use to God.

How well must one know Scripture if one is to teach others? What's the standard, exactly? And who says what it's supposed to be?

Willfully misleading people is "serious business," yes, but even teachers are in a continuum of growth, their understanding of God and His truth expanding and deepening over time. NO ONE arrives at an utterly complete and perfect knowledge of God and His word. This fact ought to keep teachers humble, but it ought not to be a barrier to teaching. Knowing the truth but purposefully distorting it to suit personal preference is the fundamental evil of the false teacher - and of liars, too - and will be severely judged by God, but simply being ignorant, or not yet fully understanding divine truth is the common condition of every follower of Christ.

All believers "lack knowledge" in some degree; no one arrives at a perfect knowledge of God and His truth. But as God must always do, He uses us despite our weaknesses, our foolishness and our ignorance. If He didn't, none of us would ever be used by God. So, be careful not to overstate your case. The teacher of God's truth must not be an out-and-out fool and ignoramus, careless of God's word, but he doesn't have to be an all-perfected sage, either, able to quote from memory the entire text of the Bible, holding multiple Ph.Ds. in Christian fields of study. What is most important for the Bible teacher is a real, daily, transformative experience of God, which requires no seminary degree, no time at Bible school, no expert knowledge of Greek or Hebrew, only humility, love and faith toward God, in holiness. Such a person will hungrily pursue a knowledge of God's truth in His word, eagerly following after Christ, joyfully living in manifestation of him to the glory of God. (Jeremiah 15:16; Philippians 3:7-14; 1 Corinthians 10:31; 2 Corinthians 4:7-11) This is the sort of person I want as a teacher of Christian doctrine and practice, of what it is to know, and fellowship with, God.

A teacher also needs to be teachable as no one could ever exhaust everything the Bible contains for our ever learning. When asking a teacher a question they might not have the answer and would be best for that teacher to say I do not know, but let's sit together and find the answer.

Would one ask an English teacher about a math problem, no as you would ask a math teacher that has the knowledge to answer your question.

There is no Pastor/Teacher that has ever been called and anointed by the Holy Spirit that knows everything that is contained between Genesis and Revelation as it would be impossible, but the greatest of teachings that we are to bring to the world is the good news found in the four Gospel of God's mercy and grace.

Yes, a teacher of the word of God set over a Pastorialship will be held accountable for the things they teach as they need to know and teach in all truth, but not held accountable for those things they have yet to understand.
