Should Christians practice what they preach? Is that the Biblical way?

Of course it's biblical.
Unfortunately we're still in the flesh. :crying

Is a smoker being hypocritical encouraging people not to smoke?
Or should that smoker make excuses for his/her habit and preach it's OK to smoke so he/she won't appear to be a hypocrite?
