Should Christian women cover up, like Muslim women(muslima) do?

Is this a true question? Or a biblical test/lesson on your part? Cause I was curious if your asking for scripture to support your question, or if it's opinions you're wanting.

Well i have been curious for quite some time. I personally believe in all Abrahamic religions it is obligatory for the women. Anyway I was reading the commentary to a verse that Jules C had posted in another thread, and something caught my attention. So instead of posting it there and not going off topic I decided to open a new thread. The commentary i read was on the following verse: 1 Corinthians 11:14(KJV). Its quoted below.

She ought to have "power," that is, a veil, on her head, because of the angels. Their presence should keep Christians from all that is wrong while in the worship of God. Nevertheless, the man and the woman were made for one another. They were to be mutual comforts and blessings, not one a slave, and the other a tyrant. God has so settled matters, both in the kingdom of providence and that of grace, that the authority and subjection of each party should be for mutual help and benefit. It was the common usage of the churches, for women to appear in public assemblies, and join in public worship, veiled; and it was right that they should do so. The Christian religion sanctions national customs wherever these are not against the great principles of truth and holiness; affected singularities receive no countenance from any thing in the Bible.

Mennonite and Amish women cover their heads because of a scriptural teaching in Acts. I believe it's in Acts 20, however I am not sure. It says that women should cover their heads so as not to disgrace their heads and that men should not cover their heads so as not to disgrace their heads. It then goes on to say that a woman's hair is her covering. I then spoke with my pastor, who has a Ph.D. in church history, about it. He said that in the time of Paul, who said this about the coverings, it was more of a trend. This trend was that men with long hair were gay. Men were to keep their hair short so as not to be confused with a gay man. Women with short hair we known to be temple prostitutes. This teaching of Paul's was a standard set at that time. I believe, personally, that since this trend no longer exists in today's society it is not really relevant. I do not think that women should cover their heads.
