On another thread someone asked a question I was unable to answer before the thread was locked. Allow me to reply here....
Before delving into that...what else did our Father, through Paul and Peter, tell us about women?
Knowing that what does the above quoted Timothy verse mean? Is Paul telling us women should not teach or...is there another layer? First he instructs men and women.
Then our Father instructs Paul to write of "the woman" and "the man" not women and men. This is a significant difference and should be considered.....
Those verses say a great deal and do not concern men or women teaching in a church. Rather it is about the woman, who is the church (both male and female). The "man" is the man child. They are those that will allow the Holy Spirit to speak through them and teach the woman, the church. Therefore, through childbearing...the bearing of the man child, the woman "shall be saved" if "they continue in faith..."
Eve symbolizes the woman, the church...Israel. She was deceived in the garden and is now deceived by false prophets.
So, where it is written...."But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence," please understand it has nothing to do with women teaching. It is telling us that the church, the woman, should not teach or usurp authority of the man, the man child but should "be in silence," should hear and see the Spirit speaking through them.
Tell us what 'layers' you see in this passage, WW.
But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence.
(1 Timothy 2:12 MKJV)
Women arent allowed to teach or excercise authority over an adult man according to Paul.
What do your 'layers' say about that ?

- Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

- 1 Timothy 2:8-10 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearlsl, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

- 2:12-15 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve; And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression: Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

- Revelation 12:4-5 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne.
