Well if its the truth, I assume that you can offer some evidence that Moore's father is the devil.

Such statements are not appropriate and should not be countenanced.

May I just quickly jump in here and say that no bible passages will work for evidence here. They can give evidence of the existance of good and evil and the duality of their nature, but cannot by themselves prove whether or not Michael Moore is one or the other.

Let's assume that good and evil exist. :) What we need is the evidence that MM is evil.

Sorry, I'll step back now.

For it is the whole issue of how America can provide universal health care without becomming a communist or at least socialist nation.
What is wrong with becoming a socialist nation? I suggest that the evidence shows that there are a number of nations which are socialist in character and score as well or higher on any of a number of measures of quality of life than the USA.

In answer to your question, I ask you to consider France, and what it has been going through for the past couple of years. France is struggling and struggling greatly, mainly because it is such a socialist nation. It has an almost negative population growth, a workforce that takes a lot of time off and it's going broke. And, all these problems with a population of only 60,000,000, not 300,000,000. Socialism tends to fall apart, because sooner or later the workforce cannot keep up with funding all the programs the government puts into place. All in all, I don't think that Socialism can sustain itself for any length of time. If there is a nation out there somewhere that has been socialist for almost 300 years and still going strong, let me know.

All in all there is not such thing as a 'socialist nation' just as there is no such thing as a 'capitalist nation' in the truest sense of the words. Yes, America is 'capitalist' but it also hold onto 'protectionism' when it comes to the market place, for the benefit of it's markets. In a 'free market' system, there would not be the need for protecting one's market - if it was the best market it would 'succeed'.

Anyways - France is not a socialist nation, to be honest, they are just plain messed up. Chirac was considered a 'conservative'.

One could look to the Dutch nations like Holland and Norway for probably the closest type of 'socialistm'. Though they too have had their problems.

Biblically speaking, I believe the church in Acts operated in a 'democratic socialist' fashion. In that they relied on themselves, not the government, to take care of their needs. One could look to the kibbutz in modern Israel as being similiar to the early church.

I see governments as being ordained by God for protection by restraining the evil in the world. But I am not sure that I see that Christians should take active (ie: membership, political office) in government. I tend to follow the examples of the early Separtists.
