Sinning on Sabbath?

S

I was reminded of my past. I remember I commited sexual immorality before and I asked for forgiveness to change my ways. If I committed sexual immorality on The Sabbath, is it still forgivable?

Jesus said that everything is forgiveable of man, except blaspheming the Holy Spirit; which I take to mean as denying the Holy Spirit until death. If you never accept the Holy Spirit then how can you enter into life eternal?

We are born into sin the minute we are born into flesh and blood; and this is why Jesus died for our sins in the flesh and blood - so we could be forgiven.

Is it that you fear sin or partaking in sin? I notice you have a lot of posts that ask if various things are a sin or unforgiveable to God. I recommend you read the bible and see all the things which are promised, provided for and given to mankind through the grace of God.

The only righteousness mankind can ever truly perform is to believe in God. For God is righteousness and he seeks those who will acknowledge him.

So sexual immorality on The Sabbath is not blasphemous?

Are you taking God's name lightly and just looking for loopholes to get away with sin?

No, I am not. Right now I do not plan to sin and commit sexual immorality, but in the past I have and I want to change that.

That's why I would like to know whether or not commiting sexual immorality on The Sabbath is blasphemous. I would like to move on with a fresh new start without something to always worry about.

ALL your sins are forgiven, God forgives all sins. Get on with your new life, and stop worrying about what you did in the past, it is over.

As Jesus once said; is it better to do good or evil on the Sabbath?

It is better to do good of course. But Jesus also said that all sins can be forgiven of men. Do you believe his words? What you require is a repentent heart which truly seeks the forgiveness of God.

Feeling bad about what you've done is the beginning of repentence; so this is a good thing. To move on however, seek the Lord's forgiveness through the promise that all sins can be forgiven. But I would also encourage you to pray about this with God rather than relying solely on the testimony of men.

Only God can redeem you from your sins; not the instruction of men.

Take care. :D

Very true. Thanks a bunch. I should trust in God's forgiveness and His words.

Well, I know it's not about man's instructions, but I just need the advice. Can you guys recommend some Books in the Bible that is appropriate with me? I'm sure you guys know how I feel after countless threads of these.

People recommended Romans and 1 John. Suggestions?

If you haven't already, read the 4 gospels. Jesus' words will make an impression on you, they sure do for me.

Don't assume all sins, past, present and future, are already forgiven. Its dangerously unbiblical, a good excuse for an immoral life, and a threat to your salvation. Why would Jesus send his apostles out to hear our sins and grant forgiveness if they were all already forgiven? After his resurrection Jesus told the apostles, "‘As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’".

I don't think sinning on the Sabbath is specifically blashpemous. Except for denying the Holy Spirit, all sins are forgiveable. But its up to you do something about it. God won't forgive sins unless you are truely sorry and talk to Him about them.

Baptism washes away the original sin we are born with, and all other sins we may have committed up to that time. So if you're not baptized, there is never a good reason to wait.

Baptism washes away ORIGINAL sin? Could you show me the scripture. NOPE. I was baptized catholic. I dont remember it. I also dont remember repenting of sin before hand either as the scriptures tell us to before baptism. I do understand how people are hoodwinked into a religion, but i dont understand why they would stay there after reading the bible.

On secound thought i do understand. Its all written there in the bible. I guess what i dont understand is the WHO can see, and WHY.

Lookin for salvation? Thank Jesus!

The forgiveness of sin through Baptism is Biblical:

Acts 2:38-39
Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call."

If children (infants specifically) are not capable of sinning, Jesus must be referring to original sin.

So what are these infants supposed to repent of? You do SEE that, dont you? Its in the scripture you gave. This original sin you speak of, where is it in the bible? Its not there. Yes (The forgiveness of sin through Baptism is Biblical:) IF YOU REPENT OF IT! So what is sin? According to you ttg, what must this 7 day old child repent of?

1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

ttg? A 7 day old child cannot transgress the law of God? Do you think he/she can?

I suggest ya go to the history books. The history of popes. Just look at how many people he/they have killed in the name of JESUS CHRIST. A tree is known by his fruit.

It didn't take you long to give up and change the subject.

The doctrine of original sin is that "in" Adam all have sinned. This parallels the doctrine of justification that "in" Christ all are righteous.

We can begin to understand this parallelâ€â€namely, through the first Adam all have died and through the second Adam (Christ) all have lifeâ€â€by looking at Romans 5. Verse 12 says that "sin came into the world through one man and death through sin." And look at the evidence throughout verses 15–19: "Many died through one man’s trespass. . . . For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation. . . . Because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man. . . . Then as one man’s trespass led to condemnation for all men. . . . By one man’s disobedience many were made sinners."

Look at verse 16: "For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation." Who did it bring condemnation for? Adam only? Noâ€â€verse 18 says, "Then as one man’s trespass led to condemnation for all men" (emphasis added). This is stated even more clearly by the King James rendering the same verse: "Therefore, as by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation."

(Catholic Answers, To Explain Infant Baptism You Must Explain Original Sin, By John S. Martignoni)

So if we all have original sin as the Bible clearly say, then when do we get it? As adults? No, we're born with it. As infants.

If you want to start another thread on Popes killing people, fell free to do so. I'd love to see your statistics.

I admire your fire ttg
I really dont want to debate the faults of man. Have a good day.

After reading some posts here. particularly those of ttg, two questions beg to be asked and answered, but probably in a new thread:

What exactly is original sin and are we all born with sin or a sin "nature"?

Just something to think about.

Hi Vic
I have come across scriptures that imply we are born with a sin nature. Nowhere have i seen anything about original sin. Its just not in the bible.

Just some thoughts from this end, to get back on the 'thread' of Sabbath breaking. This is just one of the ten commandments, and all ten are forgivable for a time. See 1 John 5:16-17 & James 1:15

Look over the walk of Christ's loved ones toward the resurrection, both before & beyond, to see Sabbath sacredness in these verses.

Can any be saved that do not LOVE CHRIST & HIS EVERLASTING GOSPEL, this is the question? Can any be saved that do not LOVE HIS EVERLASTING COVENANT?? "[IF YE LOVE ME] KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS." are HIS WORDS!

John has 'penned' much Truth from Inspiration! Not just what we call the four Gospels. The drift of his work surely needs his thinking of 1-2-3 John as well + the Revelation!! His Words of explaining do wonders for [my] understanding! Perhaps we both have a similar experience in our walk of life? (John & myself) It seems that James & John were referenced by our Master as one time 'sons of thunder'?
Anyway: In John 20 we see ALL KINDS OF TODAY'S ERROR EXPOSED! >From verse 1 on! But, in verse 17 we see Christ appearing to Mary on the Saturday evening of our today's time, as we call it! At Sunset the 7th day, the Sunday of our day started. The first day of the week. But, why was it that she waited until the Sabbath was past before she had come to anoint the body of Jesus? And why had she (and others) had all of the preparing done on the 'preparation' day?

And another of today's error is exposed in verse 17. Mary is C-L-E-A-R-L-Y told by the Word Himself (CHRIST!) "..Touch Me not for I AM NOT YET ASCENDED UNTO MY FATHER.." But this was THREE DAY'S PAST HIS DEATH!! Even notice verse 19, after He had ascended to His Father it is stated by John that.. "Then the [same day at EVENING BEING THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK], when the doors were [shut where the disciples were assembled FOR FEAR OF THE JEWS], came Jesus and stood in the midst ..."

And in verse 1 John penned that it WAS YET DARK! "The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene [EARLY, WHEN IT WAS YET DARK], unto the sepulchre, and see the stone taken away from the sepulchre." (Christ was already gone!)

Christ died on the eve of Friday's Preparation day, being the sixth day. He died at the evening sacrifice. (the Vail was rent from top to bottom making the way into the most Holy Place) Saturday the 7th day Christ lay DEAD in the tomb. (sleeping) And sometime [after sunset] of His seventh day Sabbath He was resurrected! OUR SATURDAY NIGHT OR EVENING.

OK: John DECLARES THAT CHRIST TOLD US BY MARY'S ENCOUNTER, THAT CHRIST'S DID NOT GO TO HEAVEN UNTIL AFTER HIS RESURRECTION!! But we are 'still' being told that our dead soul does . Again see who tells us that? Gen. 3:3-4! And we TALK ABOUT GOSPEL? GOSPEL 'TRUTH?'??

But, that was not all that John penned! Ask yourself why the Women (and the mother of Jesus) still Obeyed their Master's Sabbath day COMMANDMENT? And again ask yourself if [YOU] LOVED CHRIST AS THEY DID, and when the sun had set Sabbath evening, what would you have IMMEDIATELY DONE after sunset? Remember: The spices were ALREADY prepared on the Preparation day. (Fri. the 6th day)

John answers the question. It was yet DARK, after the sun was set. There is NO WAY that you could hold these ones who LOVED CHRIST BACK from going to anoint the body of Christ! (except for the MEN, huh? MEN?? They were hiding! )

Anyway this is the explanation of John's 'Inspiration'. Even when Mary 'wept' because Christ was thought to be taken away & Christ appeared to her she did not see him clearly because she was in the darkness of our Saturday evening, AND she was crying! But Christ did NOT GO RIGHT TOO HIS FATHER AT DEATH is the point! (That my friend IS GOSPEL!)

We do know what some folks still teach, huh? Gospel?? Hardly! Even as seen in verse 19 these same ones call this hiding of the disciples on our Saturday evening's dark part for fear of the Jews, a SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE! :sad

What was & is it, that was LACKING HERE? Notice verse 22! "When He had said this, HE BREATHED ON THEM, [AND SAYETH UNTO THEM, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST.]"
YE [MUST] BE BORN AGAIN!
John. 3:3 And Friends, THAT IS THE GOSPEL!

It is ONLY AT THIS POINT OF YOUR LIFE THAT ONE WILL DO AS CHRIST COMMANDED.. "IF YE LOVE ME KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS" LOVE COMES ONLY BY BEING BORN AGAIN!! SABBATH AND ALL! James 2:8-12!
---John
