I agree with the OP.
I'm a big rock/metal fan, and while I love many contemporary Christian music, I love the heavier stuff, even if it's only a tiny bit heavier than the norm. That's why I liked Skillet. From songs like Invincible, I Can, Energy, Whispers in the Dark, and Savior, I really liked their music. It was rock and had a godly message. But now, they are becoming emo and even somewhat secular. The songs are depressing in message and you would only think they're Christian if you're Christian. Most of them sound like songs about just regular situations. Here, I'm more likely to start listening to the contemporary music again because I can at least clearly hear the gospel message in it. Skillet has strayed from that a lot and Id wish they'd get back to where they were..
