I must say my time here has been very interesting. I've never seen so much debate over what the Bible teaches. There are no two of you that preach anything near the same "truth" it seems. One contradiction after another. Of course cj will tell us none of it matters. But aren't the scriptures suppose to contain everything neccessary for our salvation according to Protestants. I am sure many of you will deny that as well. This site is the baskin robbins of the net. Everybody thinks they have it down. It is easy to see why there are thousands and tens of thousands of Protestant denominations out there. Luther said it best "there are as many theologies as there are heads.".
"Trust not in your own understanding but rely on the Lord" is what Proverbs 3:5 tells us. It is clear that that is not what is happening in Protestantism. Everyone is trusting in what they individually hold to be true and standing their ground on it like it is the very word of God itself. You chide Catholic doctrine on infallibility yet you seem to live by a doctrine of personal infallibility. I have even had a few here be so bold as to say they are infallible in their interpretations of scripture. Very sad. But at least they are being honest.
All this has solidified my Catholic faith to no end and so I thank you.
I must however go. And I will not be back. It is much too much of a temptation for me to spend my whole day here. I have more important things to attend to. I thank you all for the interesting discussions and for helping me on my journey. I apologize toanyone whom I have uneccessarily offended or been uncharitable toward. You will all be in my prayers.
Peace and blessings
