So, who is ready for fall?

The first official day of fall was Monday, I believe. The weather is already noticeably cooler, though. I hope it stays this way for a while! Not sure if I am ready for the holidays, though.

How is fall treating you all so far?
Michigan is playing Jedi mind tricks on us! It's been in the high 70's and low 80's all week.

I know fall is here because of the solstice. I love seeing the moon in the daytime! What i don't like is it's allergy season again and i have to med up, but I'll be fine.

I'm excited about carving a pumpkin! I honestly don't know why I'm excited because generally i don't have a desire to carve one, but something is different this year that i can't put my finger on.

Oh, i belong to a bicycle club and the cooler weather has been great for trail riding!

Allergy season is not fun, my husband has been the same way.

We had a 58 degree night the other day, it was crazy! We haven't reached the 90s since, which is soooo nice.

Any plans on what you want to carve on a pumpkin? I haven't done one in a long time, but it is great fun!

Glad it is going all right for you!

Yeah, I hate allergy season and sinus season as well. :sick Not fun. :sad

Btw, StoveBolts, are you going to participate in my virtual pumpkin carving contest or be interested as being a judge in my Halloween costume contest idea for CF? :biggrin2

I am enjoying the cooler nights! It dipped down last night and we had to put an extra blanket on!

I'm not sure what I want to carve yet. I just have this urge to take a very sharp knife to an innocent pumpkin lol! I'm just kidding, no passive aggressiveness here lol!

All kidding aside, I keep seeing an old house in my mind. I'm sure the inspiration will come to me. Unfortunately, I'm swapping a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace which is the primary heat for the back half of our house and after that I have to remodel our mud room which entails tearing all the drywall out, replacing the rafters and putting in a new window and door, then laying tile. So, that pretty much takes up the next two or three weekends which means I've got plenty of time to figure out what I want to carve :)

I think that's a great idea! I don't know what we can do for prizes though. I was thinking about putting a banner at the top of the page with a link to the contest just like we have with Papa Zoom's thread. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

If we have judges, we should also think about putting up a pole to decide peoples choice. What do you think?

Well, I was going to head off for the night and then I saw that you responded to this already so, I already have a topic where I tagged your name in it down below and I love the banner idea as well. :biggrin

Haha, well, then pumpkin carving sounds like just the thing this season lol! Last pumpkin I ever carved was a headless horseman. I thought I did an awesome job lol. Not sure what I would carve now a days!

Wow, that sounds like quite a busy project! I hope all goes well with it before it gets too cold!

Well I haven't caught the sillies just yet, but due to the fact that my virtual Halloween party is only just three days away, it's bound to happen sooner or later. :lol

Ehhh, heat is over rated anyway lol!
Time to start working on it. I'll post a picture once completed.
I ran a new gas line and installed the chimney insert two weeks ago, so hopefully this will go relatively quick.

Hey, have the tagged posts been working for you alright? You haven't been responding to any of my last few posts or messages regarding the pumpkin carving contest and Halloween costume contest. :/

I love fall and winter. There is a smell in the air once the weather turns cool. Probably decaying leaves.
I am 65 but still really enjoy "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!".
Especially if I am watching it with grandkids.
It gets dark early and I get to read more. Farm stuff slows down and bringing in firewood is a pleasant chore.
We grow enough pumpkins for our extended family. And gourds.
