Some Key Scriptures Every Christian Should Know!

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
These verses will help Christians to figure things out in this life!

1. 1 Timothy 6:10
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.†ALL evil is somehow tied to a “love of moneyâ€!

2. 1 Thessalonians 2:13
“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.†God will NOT bless or explain the reading of His Word UNTIL you believe what you are reading!

3. Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.â€
Never forget that your REAL enemy is Satan!

4. Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.â€
Salvation is not based on your own good works!

5. 2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.†Proper study of God’s written word REQUIRES that you rightly divide it!

6. James 4:4
“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.â€

7. 1 John 5:13
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.†You can KNOW for SURE that you are saved, IF you believe God’s WRITTEN word!

8. 2 Timothy 3:13
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.†The condition of the world will only get “worse and worse†until JESUS fixes things up! Evolution is a fairy tale!

9. Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.†A Christian must be a “Non-Conformist†if they want to find God’s will for their lives!

10. 1 Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;†Watch out for ANYONE or ANYTHING that tries to come between you and Jesus!

11. Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.â€
The just shall live by FAITH! (Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38)
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.†If God has to show you proof for everything, you will NEVER please Him!

12. 1 Timothy 1:15
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.â€
Self-righteous people ALWAYS go to Hell!

13. Psalm 119:11
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.â€
The best way to fight sin, is by memorizing scripture!

14. Psalm 138:2
“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.â€
The most important PHYSICAL possession on this earth is God’s WRITTEN word!

15. 1 Peter 1:23
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for eer.†You are saved by God’s written word, and the words are living and will NEVER be destroyed!

16. 1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.†Don’t be so “earthly-minded†that you are no “heavenly goodâ€!

17. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
“Abstain from all appearance of evil.†Stay away from filthy, wicked magazines, TV, and movies!

Matthew 10:34 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. Mark 8:35 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.†Don’t envy the lost multi-millionaires and celebrities! They are headed for HELL!

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.†Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven! ALL other religions are FALSE! Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.â€

21. 1 Corinthians 2:15
“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.â€
A REAL Christian can judge ALL things BECAUSE we have a PERFECT standard of truth. The KJV!

22. Proverbs 9:10
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.†Want to be wise? FEAR GOD!

23. 1 Timothy 6:20
1 Timothy 6:20 “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 1 Timothy 6:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.†Much of what is called “science†is actually a way for the lost to discredit the Bible!

24. Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.â€
Jesus Christ MUST be your source of strength!

25. Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.â€
If you are living for the Lord, EVERYTHING that happens to you will work TOGETHER for GOOD!

26. Colossians 2:8
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.â€
The modern college “education†system will ruin a Christian!

27. 1 Corinthians 10:13
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.â€
God will restrain Satan from tempting you above what you are able to bear. Failure comes from NOT listening to the Lord!

28. Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.â€
Don’t be a PROUD person! God will let you fall flat on your face!

29. Ephesians 1:13
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,†You are SEALED with the Holy Spirit! Don’t let people try to talk you out of your salvation!

30. 2 Timothy 2:3-4
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.†God chooses EVERY Christian to be a SOLDIER!

Here are the similarities;
1. A soldier must be trained before going into combat.
2. A soldier going to war, expects that he will be shot at!
3. A soldier knows that he will have to go through rough times.
4. A soldier fights!
5. A soldier knows the value of a good weapon.
6. A soldier who joins the enemy is a traitor.
7. A soldier must stand their ground.
8. A soldier must be “vigilantâ€! (1 Peter 5:8)
9. A soldier considers it an honour to die on the battlefield.
10. A soldier fights for love of God and country.
11. A soldier takes orders, and OBEYS!
12. A soldier keeps fighting even when he is surrounded and out-numbered.
