Soul Ties is a topic that has, at times, come up around Christians, but it isn't very well understood. Lets work to explain it with God, our Bible, and Theology.
To understand Soul Ties, someone may need to understand a more Biblical Definition of The Soul.

A soul is a person. Part of the soul is identity. Given a man is loving God with his Soul, he may be identifying as a Christian, a child of God, a brother in Christ, or something, while he is shedding worldly labels and identities. Was someone given a new name on a white stone? (Revelations 2:17) Abram became Abraham. Jacob became Israel. Many men have been given a new name as they progress in faith. Someone is gaining a new identity as a Christian, and shedding worldly labels. There is a lot of mysticism in understanding The Soul and Spirits, and matters of the heart. We are working to keep this as simple as possible. There may be some other aspects to the soul.
A sixteen year old young man starts dating. After about three months of dating, his girlfriend starts to work to develop a identity with him as a couple. They started to have the same friends. People started to see them together. Maybe they met parents. Identity is being formed as a couple. A Soul Tie starts there, with the formation of identity. Given they didn't have relations, and were not in sin, that identity as a couple was still there. Given they broke up after 8 months, it may be hard. Why? They formed a shared identity, had shared friends, and met each others parents, and in splitting up, that identity may have been shattered, and various relationships they shared, those relationships may have changed or ended.
This is a complex topic......where I don't know anyone else who has taught on it in a way that was life applicable, which is why were are breaking it up, and seeing how people respond here. Soul Ties, as a topic, may get into a variety of topics, to include:
- Matters of the Heart
- Hearts of Stone vs Circumcisions of the Heart
- A Process of Sanctification.
- Possibly a variety of other issues or topics.
Given we are getting it right, with God and scripture, we are going to be flush. Flush like in wood working, where all scriptures on the topic, and a variety of references through history, and the media are going to work.
