How do i bring my parent to chtistian heaven?
Presently they are buddhism, they seen reluctant to convert to christian

Thanks

Well, the first thing to realize is that YOU do not do it, the Holy Spirit does.

This means that if you are here searching for methods and techniques, you may be disappointed.

Tell them that the Buddha has been seen in Hell (Gautama was an atheist).

You can start by becoming a Christian yourself. Lead by example.

Just a thought.

Welcome to the forums. :wave

Here you go right here. :)

Lead by example. Remember that we only sow seeds in people, it is God that gives the increase. Remain focused upon God and your relationship with Him, pray for them, and don't try to convert them. Let them get the idea that they want to convert because they want what you have, which they can see day to day.

Ummmm...leading anyone to Christ is an issue. With my parents, I'm just trying to let God work in their lives, in part through me. I think that's all you can do...be Christ-like so you can facilitate Christ's work in other peoples' lives, especially the lives of those closest to you.

And pray. Pray, pray pray. It may take a while, but prayer does change things.

Agreed!

James 5:16
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much./

I never preached to my mom and dad. Never told them about Jesus - cause that would have caused trouble, I am quite sure.
I attended church for the last 21 years of their lives. I raised their Grandsons in the church. THey used to ask my boys what they learned in church (they never asked ME that!) My boys told them ...... in the last years of my parent's lives, they came to know the Lord.

Show them the Lord with your walk, not your talk.

Dear All,

The method you advise :

1) Lead by example
2) Pray for them

Any other way?
Pray for them to be in heaven when they left this world?
Will it work?

Thanks

Hi Jameswg and welcome to the forums.

You seem to be looking for a roadmap, blueprint, or step-by-step guide that basically doesn’t exist. You see, we can not earn our way into heaven by following a series of steps, saying the right things, doing good or even the best we can. This is because we are sinful by nature and no matter how hard we try we will fail to meet the standard of perfection that is God.

There is only one that has ever fulfilled that requirement of perfection and that is the Christ, Jesus. He has fulfilled the requirements of the law and paid the atonement for our sins on our behalf. What we are called to do in response to His sacrifice is repent of our sins, put our faith and trust in Jesus, and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. This is much more than a declaration. This is something that must come from the heart and mind. Lip service doesn’t cut it. The book of James describes it this way:

James 2: NKJV
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

So, claiming that I have faith in Jesus without actually believing and trusting Him completely for my salvation is empty faith.

What you can do has already been shared. If you haven’t already done so, you work on yourself. Study the Bible, meditate on its truth, and open your heart and mind to the will of the Holy Spirit that He may give you the power to believe and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Once you've accepted Jesus, by your actions and words be a witness of the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. By this, others including your parents will know you are a disciple of Jesus and see His love emanate from you. Your witness may open the door for your parents and others to look for the love of Christ which they see in you.

If you want to defend Christianity compared to Buddhism there are some arguments (not arguments like being angry but logical arguments) that you can use to do that.
This site might be helpful to you. I would also suggest you read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, it is easy to understand and is a faith builder even for Christians.

Your parents need to confess that Jesus is truly the Son of God and believe that He is the only way into heaven. Without their personal confession or belief, there's really nothing one can do to assure their place in heaven.

They need to acknowledge Jesus for who He really is.

Buddha is not God and they need to understand that. No amount of praying is going to make them holy and righteous. You cannot pray someone into heaven.

just tell them to simply simply believe that Jesus was/is the son of God and that simply simply believing they will have life in His name [Jn.20:31] - twinc

That would be a lie.

I have to agree with Gary. If they believe Buddha is God, what good does it do for them to think Jesus is Buddha's son? Or, even for them to believe Jesus is the son of our God, if they feel our God is not the one and only God?

If I can clarify how basic Buddhism works (I studied zen as part of martial arts training, but I am not a Buddhist per se). Buddhists do NOT believe the original Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama) was/is God. This is a common misconception. He is revered (is even worship too strong a word?) as a MAN who achieved a higher spiritual state, beyond pain and suffering, beyond life and death. His life and teachings is seen as a model for others who also wish to achieve this higher state of consciousness. Individual followers may be atheist, theist, or agnostic as their personal beliefs dictate.

In my opinion, the big problem with Buddhism comes from the fact that Gautama himself was an atheist. He did not overtly teach others to be so, but denied a theistic cosmology for himself, and promoted a theology that is very humanisitic but lacks participation in a worshipful way of life. For the Christian, this is an unacceptable omission- active reverence for our Creator and gratitude for our Savior- and in my view may even be downright sinful.

Who is God?
This is the key to the subject.
You need to open dialogue and show them that God is real, loving, and our Messiah is Jesus.
