Facial recognition software through your webcam to unlock your computer.

Not sure if I like this new feature. Not that I am all that excited about getting another version of Windows, but this seems problematic. The first question that comes to mind, considering I will grow a beard on occasion, will the software be able to pick up on that, or will it keep me locked out because I don't look exactly like the image it has on file?

My Android has this capability. If you have a smart phone and this function, it might be worth a try. I tried it on my phone but didn't like it but then, I don't use any password to operate my phone.

I am pretty sure my android has this as well, but I never considered using. My wife uses a security feature on hers that will take a picture of anyone who tries to open her phone with the wrong code. She has a number of candid pics of our kids.

I don't put a password on anything since I live alone like a hermit, so this would probably cause me more problems due to the inevitable bugs in it than it would be worth for me.

Yours is a valid concern if you stay with Microsoft. They have a history of compatibility problems and can't even make their own software (let alone 3rd parties) work right. And you know when you will get locked out of your computer, don't you? The night before your big business presentation for a big promotion, or if you are a student the night of the big term paper that you need credits for to graduate, etc etc.

You ever read the tech news (e.g. google)? It's Apple this and Android that with advancements by the day. Hardly anything negative (although the news media loves to give negative press about virtually non-existent malware for these operating systems on occasion). But when you read about Microsoft, it's what the other operating systems don't have trouble with such as malware, trouble selling their notebooks, new innovations that don't take off, etc. And why do you think that is? unless people have gotten with the times and are starting to wise up. And even with that, the news media is disproportionately biased in favor of Microsoft since they hate Apple and Android. And yet there's more negative there despite their love for Microsoft. Yep, I'd definitely stay away from facial recognition with those guys. They can't even recognize a golden opportunity if it landed on their laps, let alone your face.
