Young listeners opting to stream, not own music



On a typical day, the Emory University student spends hours on her laptop, scouring the Internet for the latest music. She uses a site that aggregates music recommendations from blogs to discover new artists and songs, streams them online and then shares her finds with her friends through a Facebook group.
But she rarely buys songs or albums.

I stream music on YouTube a lot because I can't afford to buy every song I like.

But I buy songs when I can afford it. Both because I want to support the bands I like in some way and I like listening to music on my MP3 player when I go places or when I'm doing house or yard work.
 
Does anyone on this site Torrent music and movies ? I know that nobody is going to admit it.

Anyway, I'd be very careful. Besides the fact that it's illegal, many downloads could be seeded with viruses, spyware and malware. :shocked!
 
I've never used Torrent, but I used to download music. Got to feeling guilty and afraid of getting caught, so I stopped. The ones I still have from then I'm either going to buy off of iTunes when I can, or delete them.
